I'll try to start a weekly thread every week this year for discussion like I did last year. Feel free to post analysis, predictions, flame away, etc. Once we get around the mid point of the year I'll start breaking down division races and bowl projections.

Thursday:

Florida A&M @ Arkansas - 03-zzz , Arkansas big

Saturday:

Missouri St @ Missouri - 03-zzz
NC State @ South Carolina - Should be close, but I have NC State in this one 34-27
Michigan vs. Florida (Arlington) - Michigan 35 -13
Kentucky @ Southern Miss - a bit odd to see Kentucky on the road for a G5 game, I'll go Kentucky 28-27
Charleston Southern @ Miss St - 03-zzz
Appalachian State @ UGA - 42-28 UGA
GA Southern @ Auburn - closer than the experts think, 35-24 Auburn
South Alabama @ Ole Miss - 28-24 Rebels
FSU @ Alabama (Atlanta) - 31-20 Alabama
Vandy @ Midd Tennessee - I want to pull the trigger on the upset, but 28-27
BYU @ LSU (Houston [New Orleans]) - LSU 28-10

Sunday:

TAMU @ UCLA - 35-20 Aggies

Monday:

Tennessee @ Georgia Tech - No idea what GT might have coming back, but I'll go 21-20 Yellow Jackets

It has been my practice not pick our games but what the heck:

Arkansas over Florida A&M
Missouri over Missouri State
South Carolina over N.C. State
Florida over Michigan
Kentucky over Southern Miss but barely.
Miss State over Charleston Southern
Georgia over Appalachian State but barely.
Auburn over Georgia Southern
Ole Miss / South Alabama Who knows? Either Ole Miss shows up or they don't.
Alabama over Florida State Will be decided by turnovers.
Vanderbilt over Middle Tennessee
L.S.U. over B.Y.U. but barely.
Texas A&M / U.C.L.A. two classic under achievers so who knows?
Tennessee / Georgia Tech Under achieving coach with size and speed vs over achieving coach with some speed and an undersized line. Both have too many deficits to call it.

Arkansas beats FAMU
Missouri beats Missouri St.

I think South Carolina takes this one over NC State actually. I was impressed with Muschamp last year.

Michigan over Florida...35-30
Kentucky over USM
Miss. State over Charleston Southern
UGA over App State, but it might be competitive
Auburn over GA Southern

I like the close score on Ole Miss and USA. South Alabama did upset Miss State last year so I wouldn't be shocked to see them win this. If it's competitive early and through most of the game then I think the Rebels will quit as the weight of a lost season will be too much.

Bama over FSU 36-30
Vandy over MTSU
LSU over BYU

UCLA over A&M at home

Tennessee over GT...barring a turnover fest, UT should have enough talent to overcome in front of what will probably be a predominantly UT friendly crowd.

Thursday:

Florida A&M @ Arkansas , Arkansas wins or Bert is fired

Saturday:

Missouri St @ Missouri - Mizzou wins the battle for THE undergrad school of choice in the show me State

NC State @ South Carolina - NC State in close one, not sure of gamecock offense

Michigan vs. Florida - coin flip- since I hate harbaugh, Florida wins

Kentucky @ Southern Miss - ouch....UK in the forth quarter

Charleston Southern @ Miss St - MSU

Appalachian State @ UGA - UGA

GA Southern @ Auburn - Auburn should kill them if they have any chance at beating 'Bama

South Alabama @ Ole Miss - Rebels

FSU @ Alabama (Atlanta) - Alabama tide rolls in what FSU fans are calling the GOAT game. Clearly they ARE Florida Men

Vandy @ Midd Tennessee - Candy. I like what their coach is building

BYU @ LSU (Houston [New Orleans]) - LSU, I don't feel like BYU will be up to the task due to their self imposed caffeine ban

Sunday:

TAMU @ UCLA - Aggies 'cause that Ucla QB talked shot about how dumb the sec players are

Monday:

Tennessee @ Georgia Tech - GT, no clue what type of team Butch Jones rolls out there on Monday

Never wanted to pull for Florida A&M before. Won't. But if the wheels come off this season. I wouldn't be surprised.

That bad out there? I haven't really followed Arkansas as much since we no longer play annually.

I do like Bielema, he's the closest thing to Spurrier as far as one liners goes.

Our offense should actually be fine this year. Best Muschamp has ever had and it's not close.

Defense is razor thin, we literally have no backup that I'm remotely comfortable with.

EDIT: I have NC State too FWIW

Butch Jones tends to do well in games that he has time to plan for. I.e, bowl games, kickoff games, etc.

Last year we nearly lost to App State in the opener, but our big season opening game was really VT.

The year before we beat Bowling Green but then took OK to double overtime.

I expect a good showing from TN.

Constancy in offense is what killed Muschamp at Florida. USC should be good this year, but we gotta let the games be played to find out.

Y'all finished that Oklahoma game like Arkansas finished its games last season; stopped playing a quarter or two too early.

It happens and is frustrating as all hecks.

The Bielema era has been and up and down roller coaster. He's supposed to build these awesome offensive lines but then they are holier than Swiss cheese (2016) or get completely dominated by Samford (2015 I believe) when they are advertised as best line Eva.

It always seems like the weak or problem area or areas shift from one weekend to another leading the fan base to only guess how the hogs are gonna blow it this weekend.

CBB probably has another season or two to get this ball rolling before his buyout clause is manageable. He is finally addressing the defense which has steadily regressed during the Robb Amith era (DC)

Florida just suspended more players

Gators Football @GatorsFB
Head Coach Jim McElwain has announced that Jordan Scarlett and Rick Wells are suspended from all team activities.

Debit card scams. Scarlett was their leading rusher from last season. Wells is a non factor. Kudos to the coach. He's cleaning the rats out before the ship sails. They'll likely be better for it.

Seems like a lame duck season already for the gators. Good for coach but bad for fans

I don't think so. They've lost two starters for this game, but they had a great recruiting class. We don't know what they have or don't have yet. Plus, these suspensions are not yet permanent but are in effect until the investigation into the debit card fraud is finished. These are the athletes implicated. Some may be permanently dismissed and others may be reinstated without further penalty.

Doesn't bode well for them. McElwain is fine but he really needed another big year, the locals are already kind of antsy down there.
