RE: Sam Geraci Transferring
If he is transferring why was he allowed the punt in the spring game?

Fickell mentioned that he wanted to help him find the right place to land. Perhaps he was allowing him to showcase his skills for other schools.

He is still enrolled in school and needs practice reps. There is a player participating in osu's spring practices who will be a UC player in the Fall.

The Bearcats also have that 6'-5" Nolan Ross kid from Strongsville, OH enrolled. He was ranked #17 in the nation when he graduated HS. Some of the national camp combine coaches will argue he's top #5 in his VERY talented 2014 HS special teams graduating class. In HS he was close to 50 yard average with 15 yard drop and almost 4.5s HT over 50 punts. He's fully developed, has a lot of big game experience and big leg with all the situational skills. He was a red shirt recruit out of West Virginia and did a year at Kansas chasing the non-resident scholarship money with 2 seasons left on his NCAA clock . -The only issue is he's a pro style punter. He's stats make him top #5 if you remove the rugby style punters from the mix.

Good to know in case all else fails...

Quote:The 21-year-old recently returned from a two-week tour of the US, where he visited colleges from California to Washington.

How does his age impact his eligibility? Assuming he graduated the equivalent of high school at 18, his five years is up at 23. We're really only looking at two years at the best unless he receives an exemption.

The NCAA clock does not begin until you enroll in classes. You could be 40 years old and still have 5 years to play 4 if you never attended any college classes.

I was just about to say the same... it tears me up to see another candle around here.
