Jamie Dixon will certainly have them competing. Maybe not #9 good, but they were already #29 in KenPom and that was only with one season of work. As I understand it, he's been doing pretty good on the recruiting trail.

Good for WSU getting early BPI, but BPI is all wonky until a decent amount of games has been played see OU that high. They might be better and be a tourney team, but that high right now is ridiculous.

TCU should be real solid this year. Dixon is doing real good job. I am excited to play them in Fort Worth this year. Will be a good game, glad they are good now.

Yeah, this is probably the first time since before Larry Brown took over that I would be worried about that game if I'm an SMU fan. I don't think the SMU-TCU rivalry has registered nationally in a long time, but it could be something special in the near future.

Can those of you whose schools have made recent additions or had recent losses update your roster? I am thinking mostly of UCONN, it's hard for me to keep up on the turnover you have had this offseason. My impressions are that you will have a great backcourt but I dont know much about who you have in the front court since that's where you lost the most. I'm interested in breaking down your teams.

These preseason polls are all circumspect. We haven't won anything yet. The writer gave us a little respect, then backhanded us with the M/M tag. It's great to hear nice things said, but this league is going to be a dogfight (I still like our chances). As for OU, we played them very early with their best and only experienced player playing and they were pretty good and imo, going to improve. When he went down, the youngsters couldn't handle it. They may not be atop 10 but will be talented and more experienced.

I hope he recovers quickly. It is deflating seeing a young man suffer an injury preventing him from living his dream.

Expected to be healthy and ready to play mid-November. That's a LONG ways from half the season, but nice try though.

RE: AAC Fans - Who does your basketball team lose/gain next year?
in sad news, wku is collapsing..their top recruit who was a 5star top 10 player wants to transfer after 2 weeks...and their second highest rated recruit a espn 100 is considering asking out of his LOI (has attended WKU yet)

houston has a an amazing chance to land both, if we had scholarships...but we dont 03-weeping

our new coach quannas white is who recruited them to wku..especially the second one

I KNEW there was a reason Lebo didn't fill all of our scholarship slots for this year!

Mitchell Robinson, come on down!

RE: AAC Fans - Who does your basketball team lose/gain next year?
Since the Aztecs were almost in the AAC, here is a look at San Diego State...

The Aztecs lost very little from a 19 win season last year. A season that should have been a 25/26 win season.

The top player lost was Zylan Cheathm, who transferred to Arizona State. A 6-7 soph who started every game. Also lost was Dakari Allen who was the defensive specialist.

There is plenty coming back and the Aztecs add transfer from University San Francisco Devin Watson. He averaged 22 and 5 assists at USF. The 6-1 point guard scored 36 against Gonzaga. Devin will start at point guard...7 foot Cal transfer Kameron Rooks. We needed a center bad....Two incoming frosh...Jordan Schakel at forward and Adam Seiko at guard.

We will go 6-8, 6-10, 7 foot on the front line. Very deep at guard and forward. Look for the Aztecs to go with a 3 guard offense often.

As last year went, so will this year. Malik Pope must stay healthy. When he played last year the Aztecs were (approx) 16-3. He is the key.

I predict 27 wins and a NCAA tourney for the Aztecs this season. (but I made the same prediction last year 04-jawdrop 07-coffee3)

I think SDSU gets the MWC auto-bid. With that said, I think it's the only bid the MWC gets...

And you are probably correct on that.

SMU finished its Canadian tour at 3-0 with today's 78-62 win over Nike's Crown League Champion M.A.D.E. The biggest story to come out of the game was freshman Everett Ray's 17 rebounds. Like his father Clifford Ray, Everett is a monster on the boards. He was homeschooled and wasn't as heavily recruited as he should've been. In the end, Jank had to fight off Jamie Dixon for Ray. He is going to be a very good replacement for Ben Moore.
