Thanks for all the replies. I updated the list to reflect all the numbers that were linked to a university related source. Still don't have anything sourced from LA Tech, Southern Miss, or Middle Tennessee. If I missed something, please let me know.

Below, I have tried to compile a list of alums per university. I was unable to find information on 5 of our C-USA universities. Some numbers I found were more than a decade old. And some of the numbers don't distinguish between living alumni or total alumni since the founding of the university. It is quite sketchy. If any of you have better alumni numbers for your university, please share them in this thread, along with a link to the source, so I can compile a more complete list. Just based on the initial numbers, I believe C-USA could develop a respectable following and someday a respectable media deal. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.

When pertaining to athletics this is mostly just meaningless trivia. Too much difference in ages of the universities, some have difference of opinions on the definition of alumni (grads or just former students).

If you want to consider and study the current alumni contributions to a program then consider whether or not a school has an active association, how many DUES PAYING members, and scope of alumni activity. These are the folks supporting the programs, giving the money, and keeping the school spirit at its best possible level.

Southern Miss had 13,796 PAID alumni members at the end of 2016. I was told that number was up to 15,000 at the end of 2016-2017 school year but do not have that documented. They collected $290,454 in dues to help cover their $1,477,557 budget with the rest coming from events, etc. They publish a slick alumni news magazine, The Talon, on a quarterly basis of which a hard copy is mailed to the membership and others.

Now, start your survey with information meaningful to the present. How many FULL TIME UNDERGRAD STUDENTS, how many paid alumni members, membership dues collected, size of alumni budget, means of distributing info and staying in touch with members. This, in addition to the booster clubs, are the life blood of your program.

I am aware these numbers don't reflect the active number of supporters our programs currently have. In fact the numbers being reported from our universities tend to be all over the place. That is why I'm am focusing on collecting general numbers right now. I'm not concerned with the current level of engagement we have with our graduates. I think we all know it needs to improve. I'm focusing on how much potential we have to grow.

Are you asking for a link to the over 13,000 paid members in the USM alumni association, if so I can post it. The overall number of grads though, for USM and all the others is useless though in focusing the potential for growth because probably more than half are deceased.

The number of actual living graduates is preferred.

I have posted the number of total graduates from some C-USA universities because that is all they have available.

Not one of these universities can give you even a close estimate of the number of living graduates. Each can count them as the diplomas are handed out but in most cases they all go their separte ways and the school never hears from them again.

That's about right. The website now simply says "more than 120,000"

The information you quote for USM is incorrect. They have 13,796 PAID memb ers in their alumni association for 2014 school session. That figure has nothing to do with your subject of how many overall alumni.

Thank you.

C-USA

West
LA Tech (2017) Total graduates 100,914
North Texas (2005) Total living 326,000, in Dallas/Fort Worth Area- 208,000
Rice (2011) 51,961
UAB (?) Total living 120,000+
USM (2014) 13,796 in the United States
UTEP (2014) 100,000
UTSA (2013) 90,000 Total alums

East
Charlotte (2015) 120,000+
FAU (?) 153,160 Total alums
FIU (?) Total living 215,000, in Florida- 182,000
Marshall (?) 150,000
Middle Tennessee- NA
ODU (?) 124,000
WKU (?) Total living 100,000

The information you quote for USM is incorrect. They have 13,796 PAID memb ers in their alumni association for 2014 school session. That figure has nothing to do with your subject of how many overall alumni.

That is the number I was provided, so that is the number I have posted. If you have something better you can add it and I will update the list. They only other thing I can do for you is make a notation. I can't do anything about the various ways in which our universities track graduates.

On the right hand side of the following link, it says USM has over 120k;

RE: Your School's Almuni Base?
FIU has over 215k TOTAL alumni (not total living). I expect with us being a young university that most are still living, unlike the 50% dead for eager eagle's university lol. We had over 20k DUES PAYING members of the alumni association but they have since changed "from a membership model to a donor centric, giving model", so no more dues payment. I still get my glossy alumni magazines mailed to my house which is pretty cool.
