RE: Goofer Fleck
The Head Goofer has them all in a snit now. This from BlackHeartGoldPants.com:
"What side are you on, P.J.?
Our friends over at The Daily Gopher gave us some insight into a proverbial shitstorm stirred up by P.J. Fleck when he insinuated that the Gophers would be setting up shop on the opposite side of the field this season during home games at TCF Bank Stadium. From a competitive and and logistical convenience standpoint, the move makes sense. That said, a contingent of season ticket holders are — for lack of a better word — pissed about the possibility of the move due to the location of their strategically purchased seats.
Now here is where I defend and talk up Fleck. He’s a forward thinker, and he keeps a keen eye on the little things. The fact that he’s thought about the temperature on the opposite sideline during the winter months and the difference in the amount of gear required as a result is, in my opinion, impressive. It’s almost Belichickian. And if the Gophers are winning games, my guess is that those season ticket holders will shut up and color. "

Our sideline in the Bahamas Bowl. Exams a HUGE advantage. Lesson probably stuck with him. Very good for him.

No thanks. I'll pass on watching that. MLive is tone deaf. They won't cover WMU but have no problem putting Minnesota/Fleck stories on their coverage. I didn't realize that the M in MLive stood for Minnesota.

Friend watched the first ep. Said the only mention of WMU was from Jim Tressel. Not sure how true that is.

RE: Goofer Fleck
The first episode showed several scenes from WMU locker rooms with PJ. I was hoping for a few more.

RE: Goofer Fleck
PJ is a look forward not backward kind of tornado... He's gonna bowl over only the trailer parks in his forward view... The only reason he will look backward is if it suits his current stature in a way that props himself up... I.E the use of Tressel and Meyer... Come on now kids.. you really think he's gonna thank Kathy and WMU while on a stage in front of P5 audiences?
He's Urban Meyer lite... He's gonna just look at WMU and wonder why we don't thank HIM more... is what it is.

I'm paraphrasing.. but Tressell said WMU did everything they could to keep him (alluded to financially matching Minnesota's offer) but at the end of the day P.J. is always going to be looking to climb the ladder for the next best opportunity.

RE: Goofer Fleck
ATTENTION! Check out Big Ten Network today at 3:30. They're rebroadcasting episode 3 of "Being PJ Fleck". It's chock full of video of our Broncos during Fleck's time here. Like him or not, you'll be glad you watched it just to be able to re-live those times. I was shocked to learn that Fleck still has his lake house on Gull Lake, and spends the summer here with the kids and Heather. I learned that M/M Fleck are not breakfast people, and eat smashed avocado on toast to start their days. Breakfast of Champions? Heh.
