BTW, Spurs are the only PL team to not have added to their squad this summer. No signings so far.

My biggest concern is that if we do sell Siggurdsson, it's done quickly, so we have enough time to line up a replacement and get him in the side and prepared before the season starts. I'm not sure I can be disappointed, as long as Everton pay between 45 and 50 million.
But I'll be honest, the impression I am getting is that despite what Siggy wants, Swansea is fully prepared to tell him no dice and tell him he's stuck here. Swans have been pretty open about accusing Everton of negotiating with Siggy before talking to the club. They may be very stubborn here because of that.

And he really is the one true thing holding them in the PL at this point IMO. If they lose him without enough time to bring in some others by the end of this window, they may be too far gone by the time January comes along. Swansea are a team, much in the same vein as Villa, that I think could be in for an extended stay in the Championship if they do head down...and once those parachute payments cut out they'll be even further down the pecking order. I hope they can stick up, but if they lose Gylfi after about August 5th or so, I worry that they won't be able to move on anyone of consequence.

We've been lodging tongue-in-cheek bids for Siggy replacements all week. Doing the same with Llorente. I'm not sure we'll actually bring anyone in unless they sell though. Only exception is that I expect another Right back and more depth at Center Mid regardless before the window closes.

We usually make our purchases later than most teams. Not worrying so far. Only need a player or two anyway.

You couldn't put this in the "soccer sucks" thread? You just had to bring that here?

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, but this isn't the first time they've used the 49ers stadium for international competition.

If they're willing to turn down 4x the money there is absolutely no way we're ever getting Pro/Rel in America...
Not true as they can't turn down any deal right now due to Fox and ESPN habing an exclusive windows in the future

One issue: Ross is out for at least a month after surgery.

US somehow wins the Gold Cup 2-1 after Jordan Morris scores the winner in the 89th minute.
Qualifies us for the playoff against the winner of the 2019 Gold Cup (Which will be Mexico if CONCACAF has any say in it) for the 2021 Confederations Cup, which may or may not actually be played.

I don't know if we're Villa level bad. We've got a competent organizational structure which would compete well in the Championship. However, I do agree that we have to force Everton to make a decision by the 1st of August if we intend to get any sort of a decent replacement in.

USA held a silly amount of poss. The big thing I didn't like in the win was that the passing in midfield was really off the mark. Some of these passes are 4-5 yards off target and started counterattacks.
A better team would hang 5-6 on this outfit. I think this issue solves itself as the younger players are better passers of the ball.

It was sarcasm, and rightly directed...the field conditions were absolutely awful. Whole feet of turf were getting brought up with tackles and multiple times the ball path was altered because of sod lines.

I think that field has had turf issues in the past and there was also an ICC match there a few days ago. Maybe that had something to do with the turf conditions.
