Tulane game has already been announced a while back: (from 4/13/17 Hattiesburg American)

The Golden Eagles and Green Wave will play on Sept. 12, 2022 at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans. They will square off again on Sept. 16, 2023, at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg

I forgot about that one.. unless this extends the series other than just those two years.

So if we figure this is going to be a new matchup (which points us back toward Memphis... I'd love to say Louisville or ECU, but that doesn't fit in the "regional" part of the statement.

The Tulane series is a 2 and 2. Whatever the new deal is, it won't be Tulane, that's already been announce.

I was thinking Memphis until 04 mentioned a 2-1 deal vs a "big time" opponent.

My guess is TCU, Louisville, or Virginia Tech. I immediately thought FSU, but after thinking it over, I doubt they'd come here. I could see some deal where we did a 1-1 with us going to Tallahassee then our "home" game would be in New Orleans.

Beagle said guess............I don't get excited for these "big" payday games over the past 20 years against schools with significant historical value. I remember when Bower faced Joe Pa for the first time. Joe Pa had a presser that acted like we were going to be one of his toughest opponents all season. Ranked #21 in the country....game on ABC......and we laid one of the biggest eggs......only to be outdone by Cal a few short years later. Nebraska and UGA openers were nice, but those two programs were absolute train wrecks when we caught them.

Bjork has already said they're going to stop scheduling Memphis. Doubt they're dying to get us on the schedule. But who knows?

Why in the hell would anyone want a game with sdsu? of aaaallllllll the other schools in the country......you pick sdsu. Wtf? As far as ulm goes, at least the expense / bottom line would work out better with them and prob sell more tickets.
