do you think that one star kid ecu grabbed felt how bad of a program it was just by accepting him? not that he cared at all since he gets to be paired against future nba hall of famers from the moment conference season kicks in

Good work Houston.
Not exactly a package deal of the same caliber as the Lawson twins but both seem like they could be solid contributors down the line.
Will they not be able to enroll until next summer? Seems like a year away from practicing with a team yet alone playing could hurt their games.

Buyer Beware. I've heard from some people in the know that there was a lot of on-and-off-court drama with those 2. Hopefully they can get it together before enrolling at Houston.

you hear that about from any fanbase who is disgruntled with 2 significant players transferring, especially the 2 highest rated recruits from their best rated recruiting class in ages
danuel house (the highest rated UH bball recruit in 30 years, 5star) was a lot of drama on-and-off-court when transferred left for a&m by houston fans, where he went on to be first team all-sec, take A&M to their first tourney in 5 years and now plays for the wizards

Basketball players rarely transfer if things are going smooth. Sometimes, people get caught up in drama that they don't totally create. Providing they already have players of good character, Houston coaches and players should be able to evaluate if they will fit in well during a visit. Good job Houston.

I bet he's happy to be going to play for a D1 program and have the chance to prove to himself and everyone else that he deserved better than 1*. (Not that he does, or is... haha, I'm just saying he has the chance.)

The conference needs to treat ecu like an expansion candidate. Every AAc team must allow ecu access to recruit 1 out of 8 chosen individuals on each conference team roster.

I wonder if Houston feels a little uneasy though since they couldn't get them on campus right away.
Basically as soon as they finish JUCO, they could still open recruitment and sign with someone else.

We do not have any scholarships available. It was either they come here now and pay their own way, or go the JUCO route for a year and then enroll with a full scholarship. They're going to sign in November. There's no reason to be concerned that they will land elsewhere.

LOI's are meaningless now anyway. Ole Miss lost a 2017 dude(Jamarko Pickett) a week ago. It a kid wants to go somewhere else, he can.

The sad thing is, if we were able to hold onto our players instead of hemorrhaging transfers every season, we might have a shot at being decent in this league.

Scroll down past the article a ways to see the projected top 50 BPI. I didn't want to make a new thread but didn't know where to put this. As a shocker fan this is really exciting to see. Cincinnati also finally got some respect along with Temple and UCF. I expect SMU to be in the top 50 once the season gets going and several other teams to have a great shot. I can't wait for the season.

Interesting list, although I'm hesitant to give much credence to any list that has TCU #9 in the country. Also, BPI says they don't consider transfers, which wouldn't give UC credit for having Broome.

Jamie Dixon will certainly have them competing. Maybe not #9 good, but they were already #29 in KenPom and that was only with one season of work. As I understand it, he's been doing pretty good on the recruiting trail.

And then you have Oklahoma at 8 and they won 11 games last year. ...
