Weird if he is bolting for ASU. They are bringing in the top rated QB in Arizona of this class.

None of the major Arizona are based in Phoenix as Bob points out, so I am guessing my original post was wrong and Jarius is heading to a junior college and his recruitment (like Kilby's) will be re-opened. My comments re future QB after Roback leaves remain appropriate. And by the way most of the departures from EMU from our football team are grade related or behavior related and likewise when a player announced on signing day doesn't show up. I think Grissom is the only one out of this recruiting class the 2017 who didn't show up. Last year it was Hawkins a DB out of Florida and another player I don't remember.

You should double check what Bob says. Someone could say "I live in Detroit" but it really could be Southfield, Dearborn, etc.

All of that said, he would need a release from EMU to play elsewhere in D-I.

Except that people at MSU cannot stand when outsiders say Lansing instead of East Lansing, so no way would any self-respecting ASU student say Phoenix instead of Tempe. Verdict: Definitely NOT enrolled at Arizona State University. Case dismissed.

Hm training in Arizona while the rest of the 2017 EMU recruiting class is on campus, enrolled in classes and working their rear ends off to help us win this upcoming season as members of a team?

CC has run a very clean program. No trouble in the media and if we lost some recruits due to grades then so be it. IMHO it's ok to take chances on grades as long as the character is there.

Generally CC does a great job, what happens in the locker room stays there which is the way it should be. However he did discuss Roback's suspension when pressed by the media although Roback confirmed it.

Correct. EMU is basically a media blackout.

Any school with decent media coverage would have public information filtered out as to why their prize QB recruit didn't show up with his class. At a minimum you'd know where he ended up....Juco, etc.

I guess that's one advantage of being a coach, administrator, or AD at EMU. Nobody cares.

If true, then they also are media blackouts. That's why emu79 is correct. Creighton said he (Roback) was being disciplined, but not why.

I don't care WHY......stop repeating the same thing. I've never said I want to know the details, and it's perfectly fine for EMU/Creighton to keep the specifics to themselves. Privacy, legal issues, etc.......I get that.

I think Eagle Tough continues to bring up a good point -- seems like the same old approach to recruiting. CC seems too gracious with these players. He probably released him of his LOI.

However, if the kid doesn't want to be here I don't want him -- which may be his CC's approach as well.

Sucks, but we gotta move on.

I have NO idea what, if anything, is happening.

I don't know if it is academics or change of heart.

If it is academics it isn't a change of heart.

IF it is a 'change of heart' he can do ONE year JUCO, prep. school, etc. and be re-recruited in 2018.

IF it is academics, he'll need an associates degree.

Until his name is taken off the EMU website roster I'll assume I don't have a clue where the truth lies.

That's good news. He's could be an all conference receiver. Definitely EMUs home run hitter. This team has serious depth and experience at receiver. Gonna be hard for any newcomers to crack the 2-deep.
