If I remember right, when they redo Dukes, they are moving those food places into D-Hub temporarily

It'll be around for at least 3 more years. Like Dukes said, it'll accommodate PC Dukes/Phillips Hall Renovation once D-Hall is done.

On a side note, I ate lunch in DHub today. What are the plans for that place once all the dining facility renovations are done? They clearly put a lot of money into it. The ceiling probably isn't high enough to be a football facility of any sort (certainly no kicking), but you could easily lay several basketball courts in there (assuming you raised the lighting fixtures a bit).

Are they just going to tear it back down?

D-Hub is a rented facility. The company who JMU lease's from "Kitchens to Go" will tear it down when the need for it is gone. But it's gonna be a few years til its gone. PC dukes rebuild, and Mrs Greens being gone in the Chandler Hall demolition. They need the seating.

Looks like they were from 3 weeks ago on 6/21. I may have some time Saturday to slip over and get some of the latest with the roofing, windows, and bluestone.

I'm equally interested to see the new Hotel. Anyone know where I can view some recent photos?

There's been another floor added since these were taken.

The big crane is back doing some heavy lifting on the non camera side of D Hall. HVAC units or something?

The Hotel is RIGHT on top of the sidewalks....kind of creepy to think that any one walking by could look into your room. I know there will be curtains and all, but still too close to the sidewalk for my taste.

I'd imagine those lower floors are conference rooms, etc., not guestrooms.

RE: D-Hub
I'd bet 4 out of 5 hotels out there have ground floor rooms. That can't be unusual.

That said, there aren't guest rooms on the ground floor of Hotel Madison. Ground floor will be made up of other stuff like conference rooms, a restaurant/bar, pool, utilities, guest services, etc.

Art Museum.

Edit. I should have added, museum and permanent facilities for the applied design programs (graphic design, industrial design & architectural design), plus photography and possibly graduate studios. It also involves more than just the footprint of the old house, but encompasses the entire corner now occupied by Anthony-Seeger.

^^ If I remember correctly, that finished the vision for the College of Visual & Performing arts facilities for the time being (Forbes, Duke Expansion/reno, and the facility at Main & Grace)
