I double checked the numbers. They are right. What's interesting is he picked MTSU to tie for second in the east.

I think I'm going to leave it out, same reason as the Vegas odds. If I add more 'official' rankings then it dilutes the pool of this poll being CUSAbbs ranks. I have OSC just because Aggie updates it on the board everyday.

I know that I've said these (basketball) are meaningless but I wanted to think you for doing this and to be honest it's not meaningless in one way...

it gives you a ideal where other fans stand and in that sense it's better than a national poll that basically doesn't give a damn and clueless.

Also when I pointed out the couple missing from your poll numbers I wasn't doing that to be a smartass. I'm a numbers person so I check things like that.

If you have these in a database where you can easily search I think it would be fun to see how each fan base votes. If not I will try to do that sometime this week.

Other words breakdown the fans from Western, Tech, Middle......

then rank how each places the schools from 1-14

Like I said if you don't have the votes where you can basically separate each. I will do this. Don't want you to have to do more work. I think this will show if rivalries played into where we place schools.

1. LA Tech - Skips PROGRAM keeps improving. He's got the "plug & play" thing down at QB. But this may be his best signal caller yet.
2. WKU - New coach doesn't win CUSA this year, but he has a very good season anyway due to the talent still on the team.
3. UTSA - Everyone is high on UTSA this year. Hopefully they won't disappoint. The Roadrunners lose the West in Ruston on Nov 25th.
4. MTSU - This team is talented, but defense is their Achilles heel.
5. Southern Miss - I'm still not sold on Jay Hopson. Both QB's accounted for one passing TD and one INT during the spring game.
6. ODU - Good, young program. But QB problems will plague the Monarchs in 2017.
7. UTEP - The Miners will be better than many think. But they'll be much better after Sean Kugler leaves at the end of 2017.
8. Florida Atlantic - Can Lane Kiffin really do this? Not in 2017.
9. North Texas - I'm not sold on Seth Littrell either.
10. Florida International - Butch Davis is actually a hell of a coach. He can certainly handle the FIU job. But he won't make noise in 2017.
11. Marshall - Is Doc Holliday on borrowed time? I think so.
12. Rice - Every coach has a "shelf life". David Bailiff's has expired.
13. Charlotte - This is a basketball school. Don't expect much on the gridiron, and you won't be disappointed.

I just don't see odu being that great. Probably bowl eligible. But not great.

I appreciate the kind words. I have it all in an excel sheet, and I have a column for "fanhood" so that's how I have the count at the end of each poll. I could sort the group by fanhood, then I could have separate "polls" based on fanhood. Shouldn't be too difficult, but it will probably only be meaningful for the fanbases that had more that 5-ish voters.

I am sure that lots of ingredients go into per-school bias, but my guess is that recent head-to-head experience is by far the most telling factor.

It is why WKU and Empty Sue will continue to get top billing by our fans -- at least until we finally one day can avoid having our clocks cleaned by the both of them. And it also explains why UTSA gets somewhat less respect from our fans than others, and why La. Tech fans are the least impressed by WKU's chances for a three-peat this year. (That theory does not explain, however, why La. Tech fans have us down at 6th position. I presume that is mostly a result of the Dawgxas/HotDawg stalker-level obsession.)

Thanks for doing this 09. I find these fan polls more interesting than the professional write ups.

I put Tech first with MTSU at number 2. I really think they're interchangeable.

Since I had to rank them, I went with my bias.

I think 4-6 on LT list is very interchangeable.
