Donald Trump, Jr. Said Meeting With Russian Lawyer Was Set-Up

Buckle up America....

Quote:WASHINGTON – President Trump’s eldest son was lured to a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer with the promise of damaging information about Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, according to a new report.

Donald Trump Jr. attended the June 9, 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya, over the prospect of compromising information that Russian individuals were funding the Democratic nominee, according to the New York Times.

The Times first reported Saturday the existence of the meeting between the lawyer and Trump Jr., Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort. But new reporting suggests the motivation behind it.

Trump Jr. said the inner circle met with Veselnitskaya at the request of an acquaintance.

“After pleasantries were exchanged,” Trump Jr. said in a statement to The Times, “the woman stated that she had information that individuals connected to Russia were funding the Democratic National Committee and supporting Ms. Clinton. Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information.”

A spokesman for President Trump, Mark Corallo, said: “the president was not aware of and did not attend the meeting.”

No meaningful information........ of course he's going to say that. He didn't disclose this before and now he's hit with it. Do you think he's actually going to say what they did with the info? God are you guys gullible. This is collusion! Now what do we do with it? Cowards.

So the lawyer had nothing, gave nothing, got nothing in return, in a meeting that lasted 20 minutes. This is a scandal?

RE: Is this collusion?
WTF is the matter with you guys? Since none of you have answered I'll so it again. What would be collusion in your eyes. If this doesn't reach that level what would? Why are all these meetings coming out now when they should have been disclosed before?

Btw Kronke. What were your 3 credible sources in that other thread? Fraud.

That he went to the meeting being informed that she had damaging information is incriminating and and admittance of guilt. He didn't go to share cupcake recipes.

If the info turned out real, that Russians were financing the DNC and Hillary, don't you think this would be far more damning for them?

RE: Is this collusion?
It doesn't matter if it is real. It isn't illegal. It isn't even unethical.

Taking information about your opponent from someone is a normal election process. Just because you don't like who they were doesn't make it wrong.

This definition of "collusion" as somehow criminal would fit a number of news organizations guilty of "colluding" with felons who leaked secret government information in attempts to damage Trump. Those people actually broke the law to "collude" against Trump.

Listening to what the Russians have to say is in no way, shape, or form illegal.

Trying to win an election is not illegal.

Trying to discredit your opponent is not illegal.

There is nothing here that is a problem.

Nothing.

Wow. How fast we go from no evidence of collusion to even if they did it's not illegal.

Rigging vote totals would be illegal. Tampering with registration would be too.

But getting information?

Why would that be different than the Trump pee-pee dossier? Didn't that come from a foreign intelligence agency as well? What would be the difference?

RE: Is this collusion?
THIS wouldn't be illegal. This wasn't collusion.

Hillary would do this as any Dem or Rep would. It's just listening to what someone claims to have. If it's good and you can use it, you do. Sometimes it's bad info and a campaign chooses to use it any way. Like the Steele Dossier. This is what campaigns and parties do.

In Mach's world, any Trump, any day, doing anything, is a scandal. Maybe one day, he can accept the fact he lost an election. It is to the point of being a sick obsession with him, so just let him rant and rave.
