Light years diff in his conditioning from when he arrived on campus. Not quite Inma territory but a sea change anyway.

Reviving an old thread, as it is being reported on twitter that Nathan will be playing on the Brooklyn Nets summer league team in Vegas.

Nathan had a good year starting as a rookie in the top league in Italy. I've seen him as an NBA player for a while, but he'll need to keep working to get there as the league prioritizes young guys who best look the part and it's harder for guys with imperfect body types like Boothe to get an honest look.

It's amazing that we haven't had a player with any kind of an NBA career since the mid 70's.

Is it? We haven't won a MAC title in over 35 years. The two correlate each other.

Earning a spot on an NBA roster may be the second hardest US job to land.

First hardest being the caretaker for the lone tree on the BGSU campus... Job is rarely vacant.

Oh, SNAP!

RE: Boothe Eyes NBA
Didn't watch the game, but from the box score Nathan seems to have had a good start to summer league play w the nets. 11 points and 3 boards in 19 minutes mostly shooting 3s (7 fouls too) had some assists a steal and a block, 2 turnovers. the other 2 centers on the nets summer roster combined for 2 points 4 boards and 4 turnovers and 9 fouls in the same 19 minutes. who knows his odds w the nets, but if he keeps making 3s and playing a complete game other teams will take notice. NBA allowing teams to keep 17 players under contract this year, with the last 2 spots designed like NFL practice league mostly playing in the developmental league but easy to call up for short stints.

Boothe signs new contract with Sakarya Büyükşehir Belediyesi S.K. in Turkey.

Don't know if this signals he isn't gonna get an NBA look this year or not.

Turkey likes their bus terminals. The one in Istanbul puts JFK Airport to shame.

RE: Boothe Eyes NBA
He showed pretty well in the summer league even though it is more of a 1 on 1 or drive and kick game than something that would showcase nathan's overall skill set with the nice mid range and passing skills he possesses. That's the top Turkish league and basketball is big there and the rampant overdevelopment of the country has made well connected companies and rich folks extremely wealthy so I expect they are paying him well. He had a good rookie year in one of Europe's top leagues so I'm sure he has options. That said, his buyout is probably reasonable if a NBA team wanted to give him a contract. But from his point of view do you A) travel the world and make $300,000 playing competitive team basketball or do you B) sign a $55,000 contract with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and bus to Canton, Erie, Grand Rapids and Oshkosh playing hero ball with a lunch of guys desperate to make an impression on some NBA player personnel guy?

A wouldn't disparage either path. Not everyone is free from home obligations. If lunch bucket is seen more practical personally with more a chance of getting the corner office, nothing wrong with it.

Nathan Newman Boothe (Newman?) scored 20 points to lead his Turkish team to victory.
