I was not aware of any grade issues. Also, I don't believe he has ran any collegiate track to date. But he has an official IHSA 100m time of 10.74. That's faster than any recent Huskie that I can find.

Randy seemed to have implied that Wesley had off the field issues (looked like grades) that could keep him off the field based on what he wrote in this thread.

I did not see that post from randy back then. That will be disheartening if true. He was a boost to a thin group.

Wow, that's crazy. Talk about taking a hit to the program. I remember Pearson. He was the guy flip flopping on his NIU commitment then decided WKU on the eve of signing. I think it worked out for NIU.

Wasted talent...... Should have chosen NIU. He may have had some better examples to follow.

If that 40 time is right, that's defiantly getting faster.

Losing Nixon late to Iowa may not be as bad as we thought after all.

Not sure NIU would make sense for him as a grad transfer based on this:

"All the hard work in the classroom is paying off as Recker will graduate in the spring with a neuroscience degree. He is not exactly sure where his career will take him, but the current plan is to attend medical school after graduation."

NIU recruited Wieland as the only QB in 17 and he flipped to Iowa the day before signing day or close to it. Looks like he is no longer a Hawkeye.

Wow...wonder what happened. Assuming he didn’t do anything stupid, flunk out, or reinjured his leg again I’d love to get him back at NIU. Rugamba is another highly touted kid from Naperville Central I’d love to get to DeKalb as well

After a little sleuthing around, it sounds as if Wieland is going juco and then D1 when eligible. S.O.P. Found nothing more than Rugumba's departure was mutual and is transferring. Both seem to be healthy

Iowa City is not for everyone. I remember visiting when I was a student at NIU and wondering how the heck can a student stay focused with all the girls and drinking going on. Lol. It’s a sink or swim environment for some kids. I’m assuming he got distracted and flunked out.

I believe Wieland was from Iowa City.
