No reason to mince words in regard to a mess of a conference tournament. Would love to hear his thoughts on the TV deal.

No reason for US to mince words, that's for sure. But there's usually a "we're all in this together," formality with conference members on conference topics. I'm sure, like the rest of us, Jeff is sick about all these trips to Texas.

This is not one "large" stadium. I seats 12,000 people. And what is wrong is the optics of having some AAU style garbage going on in the conference show case. As to financials, what would make them look good is filling stadiums. This won't do that.

Is 12,000 seating capacity the right number? Isn't this considered large compared to what we see?

Why do you believe AAU style is "garbage?"

There are a lot more components to financials than filing up a stadium.

Because AAU is as amateur as it gets
12,000 for both venues? Not much.

Amateur in what way? You are expressing a lot of frustration without actually providing material to be frustrated about.

Look, you don't get how having the men and women playing at the same time in a football practice facility could be viewed as amateurish, I don't think there is any point debating you.

If I was to complain about something, i would explain what my complaint is instead of vague insults and offer a reasonable and logical solution. Get all the facts and have a counter argument, then complain.

College basketball is amateur, correct? Since you wanted to open that can of worms.

I have explained why I don't like it, and I have offered alternative solutions. You are spinning your wheels man.

#1. Show me anywhere in this statement where an insult was made. I'll wait.
Quote:Here is an idea of something they can "try". Splitting the men's and women's tournaments so that the women's tournament no longer holds the conference back. They could also "try" letting the higher seed host until the semifinals, that would generate some fans at games, and would be slightly less bush league than playing BooPlex style in a football practice facility, in a town that doesn't have a home team.

There are a number of things they can "try" that would be less embarrassing, and present a much better chance for success, they just have to give up on this whole two tournaments, one town nonsense.

#2. Get all the facts? WTF does that even have to do with the discussion? MonarchBlue gave his/her opinion on making the CUSA Tournament better. It is an opinion. Nothing more.

#3. MonarchBlue gave you a solution. Just because you choose to disagree with it doesn't make it unreasonable or illogical.

I'm really not sure why I am even wasting time on a post I didn't even make but your protection over ANY criticism regarding ODU is hilarious. I mean you have over 6,000 posts on this site so it is quite obvious that every single piece of criticism gets a response from you. No doubt that some on here fall on the extreme side of negativity (we know the culprits) but don't let that mask the real concerns that are valid.

I'm sure you will probably work up some backhanded way of asking a question in response to even this.

If I ever need a lawyer you're my guy, Jackie. 04-bow

You gotta admit -- he has a point.

They haven't tried anything else. It has been in Birmingham or El Paso every year since we joined. To me, trying something else, would be separating the tournaments and moving the men east where people actually care about basketball, not trying some weird, radical thing that is also unlikely to work, and is likely to make us look foolish in the process.

Does this conference ever plan to do anything at all for it's east coast teams? No tournament, no real bowls, headquarters in Dallas. Why are we in a Texas based leaque anyway? And now this joke of a solution. I guess you guy's who complained about tournaments in Richmond can say, "the grass isn't always greener on the other side." Who wants to go to a venue where you can hear the squeak of sneakers on hardwood. Time to get angry and stop eating the sh!t sandwiches they're feeding you. I for one have had it!!!
