Trevon Duval commits to Duke
Duke just announced the commitment of Trevon Duval, a 5 star point guard. Duval is the Devil's sixth Freshman commit, and their fifth in the ESPN100 rankings. They have one open scholarship, which they have offered to the #3 player on ESPN's list, Mohamed Bamba, a 7'-0" power forward.

Duval is listed at #5, while PF Wendell Carter is #4 and SG Gary Trent #7 on ESPN's list.

Presumably, Duval was waiting to see if Frank Jackson would leave (he just signed with an agent) or stay.

K seems to be one-upping Calipari this year. Kentucky has five recruits in the top 25, but none higher than #8 Kevin Knox. If either Duke or Kentucky land Bamba (both are in his final four teams, along with Michigan and Texas) they would have 9 of the top 25 between them this year.

The only other schools with more than one are UCLA and Alabama (2 each). Expect the Tide to receive a lot of attention from the NCAA compliance staff.

This is 3rd time in ESPN 100 era that #1 PG has committed to Duke. Kyrie Irving (2010), Tyus Jones (2014), and (now) Trevon Duval (2017).

You heard it here first, the SEC is on the way up in basketball. A strong roster of good coaches.

Yes. Less than a hundred miles, I think.
