BB Class of 2017
I hope I'm wrong, but on paper this class stinks. 4 commits and 3 of them look like projects.

The thing is, I can't think of many instances where Mick'a "project" players have worked out. Maybe Justin Jackson?

He already shows a jump hook and a spot up jumper (not just the dunk, although there are a LOT of those highlights, I don't know why the dunk excites people so much). Doesn't look stiff at all, very fluid and moves with a purpose.

I liked Broome's video when he signed (he creates for others and gets his own shot). Diarra needs to add some weight.

Be careful, there are two Mamdou Diarra's in this class, one is committed to UConn funny enough.

Yeah I'm really hoping that A) Bragg is coming and someone is leaving or B) Bragg notified Mick that he was going elsewhere.

4 recruits, 1 solid guy in Williams I don't think anyone can complain about. Moore is a sharpshooter- how many years have people been begging for one of those. 2 athletic shot blocking bigs, one will likely redshirt. I'm ok with it

Pretty much. The-boneyard has a thread about Diarra. https://the-boneyard.com/threads/officia...ci.111291/ UConn fans seem fearful of the future. Personally, I feel like the kid probably thinks he can be a forward, but starting out will be limited to the center position. Washington wanted him, UConn wanted him, I assume he's decent.

Players who aren't projects don't typically redshirt. He went from not being able to dribble with his left hand to being the floor general his senior year.

Sorry...I just thought jarr was taking another shot at Cronin's recruiting.

Yeah, Kilpatrick certainly would not have redshirted if he wasn't a project. I mean, JaQuon Parker was in the same class and didn't redshirt, and he was essentially a stiff his first two years. Lance Stephenson obviously had a lot to do with it though.

RE: BB Class of 2017
if he was a project then mick did one helluva job coaching him up. he had a dynamite freshman year. a redshirt year isn't going to do that for a project. a project doesn't just suddenly get it. but, i'm not all that familiar with the particulars of his reason for redshirting. i also thought it was because of lance. which doesn't make any sense

I went back and looked at this thread from when Trevor Moore committed. We beat out Stephen F. Austin, LIU-Brooklyn, Old Dominion, and Murray State for his services, and people complain about his offer list. We beat out UConn, Washington, Colorado, Marquette, etc. for Diarra, and people complain about him being a project.

Bolded the key words there.

I don't think Diarra is as old as he says he is. He is reversing the paradigm of the foreign recruit that acts like they are too young to shave. Smart kids make opportunities, but he probably needs a redshirt.

I just cant see him redshirting. Maybe Eliel, but not Diarra. Diarra passed up 20+ minutes a game at Uconn for UC...to redshirt? I just cant see it
