North Carolina-Gonzaga earned a 13.2 final rating and 23.0 million viewers in Monday’s NCAA Tournament National Championship on CBS ...
The Tar Heels’ win, which peaked with 26.1 million viewers in the fast-nationals, ranks fifth out of the 15 national championship games since 2002 — behind Duke-Wisconsin in ’15 (16.0, 28.3M), Louisville-Michigan in 2013 (14.0, 23.4M), Duke-Butler in 2010 (14.2, 23.9M) and UNC-Illinois in 2005 (15.0, 23.9M).

Not to mention that the ACC was runner-up in football (2015) and basketball (2016).

And Louisville's NC in 2013.

Weren't they in the Big East / AAC at that time? Don't get me wrong - it still contributes to the reputation of the ACC now, just can't count it as an ACC championship...

We were in the AAC, the transition year between the BE & ACC. Our Sugar Bowl victory over #3 Florida was in 2012, FWIW.

No, you were in the Big East the year you won the NC and the Orange Bowl. UConn won the NC during your transition year.
HokieMark - I agree that it would be inappropriate for the ACC to claim that (which is why I'm sure it didn't tout 5 championships in 5 years), but as you note, having a recent national champion does contribute to the reputation of the conference.
