I'd like to add Coach Chris to the list. He was my son's Upward Coach. Nice kid.

At least Tom Crean could get Cal's vocabulary back in Tiger basketball.

Cratering next season and foreseeing little hope or future material improvement may open a window for Tubby's removal. It will require our generous boosters to dig deeper into their pockets. Hopefully, Tubby"s success will render the subject moot.

IMHO, the next coach should possess the following characteristics:

1. energetic,
2. media savvy,
3. loves and excels at recruiting and program promotion,
4. possesses the willingness to mitigate his weaknesses,
5. do everything within the rules and law that advance winning.

In sum, we need a Norvell for football.

how about we fire Tubby and offer the job to Butch Pierre as the interim Head Coach . . . See if he can't pull a rabbit outta his hat w his recruiting acumen in the late signing period. Then you can decide if you want to give him another year or move onto a new coach. I dunno.

One thing is fairly certain: These last two hires have shown the powers that be what not to look for. Both hires were bad for what they were intended to be. Bad candidates at the wrong time to boot.

It should be crystal clear what the ideal candidate should look like at this point.

100% correct. My biggest fear is that we hire Penny and it doesn't work. It would be much worse than Tubby because he is our icon, but has no college experience coaching.
