The last hushpuppy that I ate was in about 1994.

But to answer your question, I think that they're generally southern with the exception of national fast food seafood chains.

Regardless, if you're ordering hush puppies in Syracuse, Seattle, or South Bend, you're doing something wrong.

Probably because those places suck

Perspective: dipping hush puppies in ranch is slightly healthier than wrapping a stick of butter in bacon and deep frying it.

Deep-fried hushpuppies wrapped in bacon... NOW you're talking!

As long as the hush puppies are with seafood.

I wanna die happy

You're the first person that I've ever met/e-met who doesn't like Seattle.

Seattle is OK, it's just highly overrated. I was there for a hazmat conference once and even the King County folks who were hosting us said it was overrated.

Spent a week in South Bend one night. That's an absolute backwater. We were doing a tour of the Elkhart Brass company after a tour of Pierce and South Bend was unfortunately where we ended up.

Never been to Syracuse but one of my backseaters at the FD was an Elbridge native. He says Syracuse is pretty much Columbia in a deep freeze. All I need to know. Kinda fits since just about every Syracuse fan acts like the typical South Carolina fan.

No love for Kansas City? I prefer Memphis-style BBQ myself, but you have to give KC some credit imo.

ACC Board...we are basically talking about the 4 styles of BBQ in the Carolinas.

BTW, both KC and Memphis are excellent. Best ribs I ever had were in Memphis. Ate at Oklahoma Joes in Olathe. BTW, now named Joe's

My bad, thought we were just having a BBQ circle jerk. Although from a northern outsider's perspective, I prefer SC-style mustard the most FWIW.

Nothing wrong with BBQ talk anytime...BTW, for a chain...I go to Sonny's sometimes in FL. Great for when I'm traveling...I can get in get out in 40 mins. BBQ is decent but not on par with the best local joints.

Never had hush puppies with BBQ. Hush puppies with fish fries, etc. Now, cornbread is another matter

Sonny's is like the Golden Corral of BBQ...like I said...I'll stop at one when I'm traveling...I can get in and out quickly. I usually get their sliced pork sandwich.

Actually we have several good BBQ places in Gulfport. Might make sense to meet halfway...like in Bradenton.
