Yep, but I think it's a little of both sides.

I think the great ones get that way because of their tenets and principles.

Sure. Whatever makes you feel better.

John Calipari won 30 games and made a S16 at UMass before Marcus Camby ever stepped on campus. Doubt he's ever changed his attitude much.

Gregg Marshall has been doing the same thing from Winthrop to Wichita.

We've also seen coaches with not such strong beliefs/ideas run talent into a ditch like Dale Brown at LSU with Shaq and Stanley Roberts and Chris Jackson.

Etc.

Like I said, it's probably a little of both sides.

Salesmanship along with knowledge..Some have more of 1 than the other
