ND beat Pitt two out of three in Pittsburgh.

The Irish had a chance to sweep with the bases loaded with none out in the ninth. Tie game.

Didn't score and lost by a run in the 12th.

Tack that on to the 19-0 home win streak of regular season games they ended 2016 with and we are up to 35 regular season games in a row at home. We are at 2-0 series wins and sweeps this season in non-conference and also in conference so far. Last year we were 5-0 in conference sweeps and 7-3 in series wins. In our first year, 2015, we were also 5-0 in conference sweeps and 10-0 in conference series. So up to 12-0 in ACC conference sweeps over 3 years -- and 19-3 in series wins. You'd think someday they could win it all in Omaha instead of just getting there.

Not sure what it says about either team, but VT took 2 out of 3 against #1 FSU.

A 2-9 loss, a 13-12 win, and a 17-0 win for the Hokies against the Seminoles over the weekend.

VT is now 13-9 overall.

Per Teddy Cahill, national writer for Baseball America. @tedcahill

The Louisville stat sheet is NSFW. The Cardinals are hitting .325/.480/.428. Opponents are hitting .177/.213/.281 against them.

Louisville pitchers have allowed just one home run in 175 innings.

Brendan McKay has been intentionally walked as many times (6) as he has walked batters.

I personally like the fact that Brendan McKay leads the ACC in batting average (.481) AND in ERA (0.36).

That kid is a freak. I hope like hell he can get to Omaha this year, because it will be his last chance. And he was so so close the last two seasons.

EDIT: When I say last chance, I mean that he would be foolish to come back for his senior year. He will be draft eligible this season.

It will be interesting to see what MLB does with him.

Completely unfair characterization of Baltimore. I'm guessing the only thing you know is that we had a riot and maybe you've seen a few episodes of The Wire. That would be about like me labeling all of Miami as cocheads because I've seen Scarface. Also....58-0.

I suppose a better word choice would have been "completely inaccurate characterization of Baltimore"

"When a teenager from East Baltimore was asked to describe his neighborhood, he spoke of “big rats going around in people’s trash, vacant houses full of squatters and needles on the ground.” A young woman in New Delhi, asked the same question, described the dirt and the “dirty water found lying on the roads,” while a young man in Ibadan, a large city in Nigeria, spoke of the smell of urine and streets “littered with paper and other refuse.”
