Why be a stuck up sourpuss, I would love to see Houston to be the first football team to play liberty in FBS H&H mybe even invite them into the AAC

You honestly would like to see Liberty in the AAC?

Cheers!

If they are paying I Hope Charlotte's playing. Just show me the money! All I care about is sports. If there was every anything called a safe space it ought to be sports.

I would love to play Liberty. Like I said earlier, it is better playing them than Directional U.

I read Army has three open dates in November 2018 and another on December 1st. In 2019 four open dates including three between November & December?

Is that true?

Cheers!

They're expanding their stadium. At their news conference, they said about 35,000.

RE: Who is the first school to schedule a game at Liberty?
My Prediction BYU will be first doing what they did for UMASS. Followed by the other UMASS and NMSU. Army will sign to get away from playing to FCS teams. They should beat Liberty to start. G5's I think UAB and Coastal would make great sense since both programs are essentially at the same location. All the established teams should be favored but provide Liberty with a chance to win. They will try to get Hawaii to get extra home game, even if it would be FCS. Teams I would be targeting the following for H/H

CUSA Teams to target
Marshall
FIU
FAU
WKU

MAC
Kent
Bowling Green
Ohio
Emu
wmu
cmu
Ball St
Akron

SB
ULM
GSU
Ga So
Tx St

MWC
UNLV
San Jose

If Liberty does a proper business plan, they can make it work. If they truly have the money, the can offer poorer SB, MAC and CUSA teams decent money to play them at Lynchburg. We will soon see if it can be down. I hope Liberty can make it work. Always like routing for the underdog.

One thing, would it not make sense for Army getting rid of a 2nd FCS game? With Liberty being FBS, that helps getting to bowl eligibility.

Realistically, I expect the poorer schools like Louisiana Monroe and Eastern Michigan to accept a payday. Old Dominion wants another Virginia school in CUSA so maybe they will want to schedule Liberty as the next best thing.

I hope it's USA so Tom loses his sh*t...LOL

We have no away openings until 2023.07-coffee3

Don't worry! I'm sure Liberty can buyout one of those schools so that we can play. I can't wait!

Liberty to evangelicals is setting itself to be what BYU is to Mormons. Think- Notre Dame. Liberty is going to be a very powerful school. I am blown away by the number of people I know whose children are attending Liberty.

I don't know why you are laughing. Baylor, the largest Baptist university, is the type of school that may schedule Liberty and visit. Baylor is not known for their challenging out of conference scheduling.

UCF had Texas open their stadium. I would not be surprised if a school like North Carolina opens Liberty's stadium.

I'm laughing at Baylor playing at Liberty. Sure Baylor will schedule home games. You are half right. Baylor is known to schedule cupcakes at home, how often do they play at the cupcake's stadium? I didn't know you liked Liberty?

Cheers!

Actually Baylor has played at 2 Sun Belt schools in the last 10 years. They even went to Monroe. Unfortunately for LU, Baylor is booked up through 2023. Big XII teams are somewhat willing (outside of Texas, WV and Oklahoma) but they only have 3 games OOC to work with.

There's a few elements here

1) Is there an opening
2) Is the school willing to travel to a G5
3) Is the school willing to travel to Liberty
4) Does the school WANT to travel to Liberty, even over just about every other G5, who would also enjoy playing them at home

Could LU replace a FCS team scheduled to play a FBS team, if LU made a payment to the FCS team greater than the FBS guarantee, and the FBS team agreed to the LU replacement?

Yea, that could happen, but you'd be playing AT another team in that case. Remember that (with one exception) FBS teams do not ever schedule games at FCS teams.

Of course the FBS team would have to agree to that.

Seriously, LU is planning on PAYING to play AWAY games????

Okay.

Maybe I don't understand your question.

Yes, it was a confusing question and I was distracted when writing it. Let me re-state using an example. On 8/31/2019 Gardnew Webb plays Charlotte. Could GW be paid by LU to terminate their contract and take their place vs. Charlotte, with of course Charlotte agreeing? It would be a road game for LU but a FBS game.

Sure, they could, and Charlotte would have to agree to it. But seriously, if you guys want LU to be seen as a 'real FBS team' paying to play Charlotte on the road is going to raise more than a few eyebrows.

But what's in it for Charlotte? They already have a game scheduled, with an easy win program, that will count towards bowl eligibility. Why switch it to LU? What's in it for them?
