Hoy will be our starter next season.

Now we have some serious quarterback competition. I'm so excited about Hoy and his 3 years of eligibility, I just might go out today and do some bench presses and check my 40 time. Welcome Jordan Hoy.

Between us and Vandy. He visited the same time that Hoy visited. Pierce is a player and a fantastic WR. I will add he is humble, grounded, and academic kid. Just the kind of player we need.

That's unfortunate. I was looking forward to seeing him dawn the blue and silver. I wonder if there was late interest from other schools. Not sure how accurate the site is, but 247 had him listed with only 3 scholarship offers: ODU, NSU, and Mercer.

According to ultimate recruit, he was offered playing time quicker than if had gone to ODU. Also, he'd get to stay at RB instead of HB.

This is an odd flip, but in reality I am happy for the team, especially when a player elects to leave before he infects the team with negativity and discourse. I am not sure where he will be attending, my assumption is the circumstance will become clear next week. IMO, ODU will better off with out him.

Whoa don't need to be salty after all thats the kids decision and he had nothing to do with it although i have got a different bone to pick with him. 247 is not covering ODU at the same level they did in 2014 and i understand the lack of dollars flowing in from ODU fans and its really immature on their part if they think that they will get the same revenue from us as they do for VT given our short FB history.

All I know is that articles a week or so ago were busting in UCONN for pulling a scholarship. What is the difference between that and these players decommitting. A person needs to be a man of his word. I won't be busting on coaches doing this anymore.

24-7 Has Chris Pierce at 100% going to Vanderbilt. Not surprising I guess, but I was really hoping we could keep him so close to home. Makes you wonder how good we could be if we simply had the letters ACC or SEC on our jerseys too.

And nothing to do with the kid. You gotta do what you think is best. I've often said to the wife that I'd hate to be a college coach and have my career decided on the whims and fancies of 18 yo's.

The difference are these ar 18 year old kids pressured to make decisions. A lot of things change in a year and a lot of times it a mutual decision to de commit.

We had too many RBs and it sounded like the school was going to try him at Hback

McCall's twitter feed has him going on an official to NSU today and offers from Liberty and Howard. I'm thinking grades may be playing into this as well.

Playing time is also a big deal for these guys. You have to remember that most of these kids are used to being "The Guy" on their high school football team. They think they deserve to start immediately. They don't realize how much bigger, faster, and stronger these kids become once they get to college and get into the weight training programs, not to mention that little bit of growing some kids do at that age.
