RE: To all the Doc Sadler defenders
Wow, keyboard kowboy, now i see you have some weird personal issue going on here involving Doc. Bc no one in their right mind would make such ridiculous, unfounded statements.

And to my calipari point; so since you agree he would win more games....youre saying its not impossble to win, giving the situation. Thank you for confirming that its not automatic / a guarantee that every coach in the nation walking into Docs situation would have consecutive 20 loss seasons. Nice to know my expectations werent too high.

I think your expectation should be to see steady improvement on both offense and defense which I believe we will see. I will not evaluate anything until these players have a few games under their belt and have had time to come together. In order to have a decent team with the talent we have[ very little ] we will have to play great defense which is supposed to be something Doc is good at teaching. And yes, you should expect us to beat those two teams.

Not saying Doc is a good coach, but do you people realize how hard of a sell Southern Miss is in basketball recruiting? There are literally no redeeming selling points except immediate playing time.

The facilities are arguably the worst in the country out of 300+ D1 teams, we have no tradition, our conference sucks, and the fan support is mediocre at best.

I think we all have seen how fans will support a good product on the court. We don't have one. I'm glad Tyndall excited basketball for me when I was a student. Do I think he ruined our program? Absolutely. But you can't deny the results he had while he was here. And I'll echo what I've said in the past. If he had stayed, no one would have ratted him out and we'd all be head over heels in love with they guy.

We have work to do in basketball, the first step being actually caring about the program. And that means renovating that entire arena. Until we can accomplish that, I don't think we as a fanbase have any room to demand NCAA tournament appearances.

RE: To all the Doc Sadler defenders
Doc had some decent talent on the team when he took over before all the crap hit the fan. When it became evident that the team would not be any good, our admin chose a self-imposed postseason ban. It appeared to me that Doc did not wake up and start coaching until the NCAA investigation was made known.

I think Doc is an average coach that will struggle to bring in the talent he needs to win at Southern Miss.

"But otherwise, how'd you enjoy the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"

Btw, his results were 2 NIT appearances. While cheating. Hardly worth the sh** storm what we got in return. FFS, James Green took us to 2 NITs on the up-and-up and got ran out of town.

Maybe if people could have shown some excitement over a team good enough to beat Memphis and land an NCAA Tournament at-large bid instead of waiting to get their panties wet over a chubby guy with a slick smile, we'd have a prayer of accomplishing something around here.

Actually most of the conference is in decent shape, with the exceptions of FIU, FAU, N. Texas, UTSA and USM. And don't get me started on FAU, FIU and UTSA, none of the three have any vested interest in having a decent basketball program.

As for UAB, WKU, MTSU, Charlotte, Marshall, LA Tech, ODU, Rice and UTEP. Those schools are in decent shape, they now just have to go out and beat the schools they should and have a few upsets in contests they should be dogs in.

As far as Sadler goes USM was lucky to have someone with knowledge come into the program while it was getting hammer with violations. I don't think it will be this year but I think you will start to see a vast improvement in 17-18.

Scott Berry is probably the least incompetent coach at USM right now.

OUCH.

Hope so, but most years the conference gets one invite.....until that changes we are a subpar conference. Obviously USM isn't helping things.

At least we aren't Memphis and the 11 midgets anymore. The top 3-4 programs in the conference I think could play with almost anyone. The conference for the most part is competitive night in and night out.

Heck even USM took Marshall to OT last year in Huntington. If not for a tip in by James Kelly with :04 to go in the game and a 3 at the buzzer in OT by Austin Loop USM would have left with a win.

Obviously getting schools into the NCAA is important but not a measuring of success of a conference over all. Last year 7 of the 14 teams had winning records, only 4 other conferences can say that. CUSA also had two teams in the top 10 in tempo with Marshall at #3 in the country and Charlotte at #7. Also last year Marshall scored 2,848 points or 85.2 points per game which was the #3 best points per game in the country.

This may be one of the more delusional posts I've seen on here. Getting to the NCAA isn't the most important measuring stick for a conference? Okay.

Yes it's year 3, but coming off the sanctions, its more like year one. Last night was not encouraging, but it was an exhibition, with all of the factors listed above playing a role. Every single year a big name gets beat or almost beat by a D-2 or NAIA team. It happens. Chill.

We are better than last year in my opinion. I think we win 12-15 games. If we win less than 10 again, call for Sadler's head all you want. But basing off an exhibition without our best player is dumb. And yes, it's still Tyndall's fault. He is the sole reason why we only have 10 scholarship players. And why several left because of the NCAA trouble.

...what tyndall did to basketball was even more destructive than what HWNSNBS did to football.

dumbest thing ive ever read
