RE: MLB 2015 season thread
wow, how about this:
Did MLB's schedule-makers predict the future? The two World Series participants, the Mets and Royals, open the 2016 regular season against each other in Kansas City on April 4th. The 2016 MLB schedule was released last month.

lol
http://awfulannouncing.com/the-locker/ne...-win.html/

The New York Times created a 1908 style sports page on Friday for the Mets winning the NLCS. It's a classic troll job on Chicago and the Cubs....

saw this:
Jerry Crasnick ESPN.com MLB Sr. Writer
Raul A. Mondesi, the son: 0 MLB seasons or games played and ONE World Series roster appearance. Raul Mondesi, the dad: 13 MLB seasons, 1,525 regular season games, 6,369 plate appearances, 10 playoff games and 38 postseason plate appearances and ZERO World Series roster appearances. Who said life is fair? (Hat tip to ESPN's Dan Mullen).

wow how about this factoid. tonights CG by Cueto is first by an AL pitcher since Jack Morris back in 1991.

Sure feels like the series is over. KC just a brutal matchup for the Mets.

Just too many bats for for the Mets to handle.

RE: MLB 2015 season thread
Going in the question was, would the Mets strikeout pitchers be able to generate swings and misses with the fastball? So far the answer has been No. Degrom and Harvey combined to get 2 swings and misses on something like 55 fastballs. Of course in the end the Mets were one hanging splitter away from winning game 1 and walking out of there with a 1-1 tie.

true. But how many times in series like this have we seen 1 at bat like that and the series is never the same. Thinking Oakland/LA in 1988- Oakland never recovered from Kirk Gibson's homer in game 1. I think there was one in 1990 Oakland/Cincy series as well with the same thing.

Oh I agree, this series is probably over. Just saying with all the talk about the Royals making consistent contact, we forget that the Mets should have won one game, but their all star closer blew his first save in months.

so Harvey ends with 215.1 innings, unless he pitches in a game 7. You know he's going to be looked at next year big time. If he has arm problems, you're never going to see a guy go over 180 innings ever again year after Tommy John.

and the opposite will be true if he feels fine. Of course we'll still need to remember that every pitcher is different, thus every case should be treated differently

You want to say definitely if the opposite is true- but you know some guys will still be treated with kid gloves. He's going to be a fascinating one to watch going forward regardless.

no doubt. Although rather than rigid kid gloves, I think those pitchers will be treated with slightly more flexible kid gloves. But again, it depends on the situation. Fernandez also had TJ, but he's had other aches and pains in his arm, unlike Harvey who just had TJ

yeah. It's going to be a fascinating watch and see with him. Just think he's going to be maybe the case study on innings limits year after TJ.

totally will be. Was so cool seeing a guy coming off TJ, given an opportunity to pitch all the way through the postseason and WS.

RE: MLB 2015 season thread
wow.. just wow.

The thing I do like about this is that he had Barry Bonds at close to the same part of the career as Harper. So I think that's a plus. I don't like the thought of him managing the pitchers at all of course.
