TXST went up 7-3 but since are allowing WKU back in it. Gave up 2 in btm 8th to close to 7-5. Our ace closer has 2 on, no outs btm 9th. Gads!

ASU holds on and takes the series vs UTA 14-10.
We've got Memphis at home Tuesday, at Missouri State Wednesday, and then former ASU assistant Ty Harrington brings his 5-1 Bobcats to Jonesboro.

Crazy inning in Statesboro today as Ga. Southern beats App. St. 10-7 to take series. Ga. Southern trailed 7-3 in mid 8th. In bottom of the 8th Ga. Southern scored 7 runs on 3 hits--- yes 3 hits. A catcher's interference call, several walks, 2 wild pitches that allowed runs to score and a critical error by App's 3rd baseman coupled with 3 Ga. Southern hits leads to 7 runs scoring.
It feels good to beat App. St. no matter how it was done. We take series 2 games to 1.
I saw 2 of the 3 games and App. has very good starting pitching. Their bullpen is another story.

Cajuns hit back to backs in consecutive innings today. :-0
GaSt has a hell of a player in #22 Wilson, but their pitching is pretty suspect.

No disrespect to GaSt but in the last 10 days yall have been hating the Cajuns (very understandable). Basketball tournament champions defeated you, Baseball sweep, Softball sweep. Will say you have a heck of a baseball team. If anyone thinks this is not a good team wait until they get there pitching rotation down. They can hit the ball. Glad we played you early.

For the record, if UTA could ever get there pitching in line, they'll start winning league games fast. The offense is very good. Lots of hitters over .300, most can hit for power. Problem is their starting pitching is very poor, and the bullpen is overworked.

Pretty simple. One is a battle for 2nd place after the first third of the league season. The other is a battle to see if anyone can play the Cajuns close. Not to mention is Ty Harrington's return to Jonesboro for what I believe is the first or 2nd time since he left here back in the 90's.

This weekend. There have losses this year of 4-1, 4-3, 5-2, 5-2, 2-1, 3-2 and 3-1.
Those are seven losses this year where the pitching did decent to great and the offense forgot what game it is.
The bullpen has been the best this year, but even they have cost us some games. This is just not a good team and plays too inconsistent. Terribly disappointing after the hype and expectations they built for themselves, especially after opening a new indoor practice facility and announcing plans to add more player amenities to Clay Gould.

My thinking is in college baseball if your pitching holds a team to 4 or less runs you should win the majority of those games.
