Nope. Nothing is official. Only speculation from some Florida guys tweet, and some UC fans who claim to have heard "rumblings" from within the program. I stated in my initial post regarding this that as of right now its speculation.... People have taken it and ran from there haha

Quote:Bearcats sign potential starting QB Jarred Evans

CINCINNATI -- The Bearcats signed a junior college quarterback who will compete for the starting job next season.

Jarred Evans of Santa Barbara Community College has enrolled at Cincinnati and will be a front-runner for the job, along with sophomore Gunner Kiel, who sat out last season after transferring from Notre Dame. Evans was one of the most notable members of coach Tommy Tuberville's recruiting class on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Evans reminds Tuberville of dual-threat quarterback Munchie Legaux, who tore ligaments in his left knee last season.
"Jarred Evans is a kid that I've had my eye on for a year," Tuberville said. "He reminds me a lot of Munchie. Jarred is probably a more proficient passer because that's what he's done more, throw the ball. But he can really run, he's got a lot of speed."

Kiel's experience running the offense in practice last season makes him the leading candidate to replace Brendon Kay, who has graduated.
Cincinnati's highest-rated recruit is linebacker Kevin Mouhon, who is the brother of Bearcats defensive lineman Silverberry Mouhon. Kevin Mouhon originally committed to Tennessee, but changed his mind and will play with his brother.

Kevin Mouhon attended a football camp at Cincinnati last year and made a visit.
"Silverberry was probably our better recruiter," Tuberville said. "Kevin came to games, came for an official visit. I think family won out in this situation."

CINCINNATI
National rankings (Rivals 58; Scout 61).
Best in class: Kevin Mouhon, Norcross, Ga. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker originally committed to Tennessee and former Bearcats coach Butch Jones. He changed his mind in part because of his brother, Cincinnati defensive lineman Silverberry Mouhon, who is entering his junior season.
Best of the rest: QB Jarred Evans, 6-2, 190. The transfer from Santa Barbara Community College has already enrolled and will be eligible for spring football, where he'll push sophomore Gunner Kiel for the starting job. LB Marcus Tappan from Glendale College also has enrolled and could get early playing time. CB J.J. Pinckney from Sylvania Southview in Ohio provides size (6-3, 186) at one of the Bearcats' thinnest positions.
Late addition: Davon Witherspoon, a safety from McArthur High School in Miami, was the last recruit signed on Wednesday. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound defensive back will add to the depth in the secondary.
One that got away: Hunter Atkinson, TE. Atkinson, a 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, waited until Tuesday to choose Georgia over Cincinnati. "We knew we had a battle with Georgia and we lost last night," Tuberville said.

This is a pretty good article. Why didn't our hometown paper run it?

Travis Johnson retweeted "Gator Facts" a few hours ago which is a Florida Gators sports account. Coney's tweets are still pretty cryptic. Mostly pointing to leaving I would say. "I had fun for these 3 years."

I could see Evans being in the mix. His highlight film they showed at the signing day dinner looked good. And with him enrolling early he'll get a chance to learn the offense and go through spring practice. It's just a matter of whether we could tailor or offense to fit his particular skillset.

Coaches are really high on Evans. Don't be surprised if he is the starting QB next season.

That article also pointed out another thing I have been thinking for a while. JJ Pinckney looks to be head to the DB next year, while he looked good in space, his size and skill at the CB spot fit way more with CTT's prototypical defensive back.

Yep, there will be some position switching going on with this bunch. Ferguson and Stout are both starting out as offensive tackles, and Boone will be a rb. Will be interesting to see where Tyrell Gilbert settles. I would expect the most immediate impact next year will come from Labady, Carter Jacobs, and Gladney.

I thought Gilbert was coming in as a safety.

RB or safety, his decision to start.

You don't think it has anything to do with the rumors swirling around that he is out of the program and that the URL has "UC" in it?

Of course I do. But we're supposed to wait until an official announcement before we speculate that he's gone.

I know many will complain about us snagging local kids, but when you consider PWOs the amount of local relationship building is strong.

Perhaps it's idealistic but seems to me by allowing local kids to walk on at the current clip we're building relationships at local schools. We're endearing ourselves. It's a slow process, yes, however I like it. Hopefully it pays off. The Bearcats def have a local flavor in that locker room.
