With The potential of Landing assistant coaches
to his staff that have ties with Cal and the desperation to land The TOP recruits....THIS BATTLE WILL BE EPIC! This is what Memphis needs and DESERVES!
With Cals assistant being considered for Head positions and potential loss of Barbee as well...This leaves little margin for era and could diminish the potential prowess of UK, tilting the scale in Hardaway's favor even more!
"I’m told Memphis is targeting Tuesday for the Penny Hardaway festivities. Sounds like things are pretty far along on staff. Two former Memphis/Calipari assistants in Steve Roccaforte and Tony Barbee are staff candidates, per source"

Penny Hardaway to Memphis is done, and he may be looking to add a current UK assistant to his staff.
"However, fellow UK assistant coach Kenny Payne is considered to be a head-coaching candidate this year, though there’s not been any real chatter on schools being interested in him, yet."
"Barbee played under John Calipari at Massachusetts and served nine years as his assistant there and at Memphis. He is 131-127 overall as a head coach, but was 49-75 in four years at Auburn before being fired in 2014. He also coached four seasons at UTEP, where he had great success before taking the Auburn job."Jason Marcum SBNation"
“We were the Shaq and Kobe before Shaq and Kobe,” Shaq tells The Daily Beast of him and Penny. “We were the first team to have two guys with signature shoes. And we never had problems. I don’t know about Magic and Kareem’s relationship or any other small-big guy’s relationship, but we never had problems. The only time we had problems was when I had to tell Penny he could be too unselfish at times and he had to shoot.”
“Penny Hardaway was the man,” utters Shaq in the doc, his gloomy demeanor oozing regret. He later pauses, and adds, “My first four years [in the NBA] were probably the best four years of my life.”
