NMSU - NCAA (anywhere from a 9 to a 12 seed)
UVU - TBD (not likely the NIT but I'd say CIT)
GCU - CIT (should host at least one game)
Seattle - CBI (Should host at least one game)

Maybe UTRGV in the CBI
It would be nice if UTRGV got in somewhere
IT would have to be the CBI being that they are ok with teams with losing records.
SU is hosting a CBI game on Wednesday according to Hayford. Opponent TBA. Likely SU has home court advantage until at least Final Four
Ugh... no official news for CBI bracket or Complete CIT field. Selection Sunday isn’t fun until you know your team is at least playing somewhere...
Breaking News - GCU, Seattle, and UVU will host CBI first round games. UTRGV will play at New Orleans. Go WAC!!!

Grand Canyon vs South Dakota would be a nice game. Similar teams.
I’m pulling for GCU beating UVU to play a Seattle that just beat UTRGV and have an all WAC championship game. Woot!!!
I personally would love to run into Central Arkansas and have coach Russ come back to GCU arena but on the other side of it.
The WACBI lol

Let's win some games.

WAC FINAL FOUR
Happy for SU & UTRGV, but I can't imagine a pay-for-play tournament is very satisfying for UVU or GCU coaches/teams. It's definitely not for me, as a fan. The only way GCU to CBI kind of makes sense to me is if Majerle turns this team over to the young guys now. I would rather lose in the first round with youth than win the whole tournament with seniors.

If practice time, starting lineup, and game minutes aren't dominated by underclassmen, then being a part of CBI will have been a waste and embarrassment. But, let me tell you how I really feel... :)
Wow this is our first tournament in almost 4 decades. 38 years exactly.

Looks like everything is re-bracketed after the quarterfinals so if we win two and UVU wins two then we may not play each other. Also if I am reading this correctly, the final is a best 2 out of 3 games? That would be insane if GCU & UVU ended up playing each other 6 times in one season.
Anyway, one game at a time. Go GCU and go WAC!

Yep! First game at the "lower seed" then last two at higher seed. Always really fun every year. Last year was Wyoming and Coastal Carolina I think. Went to a 3rd game in Laramie

If I was a senior, I think I’d appreciate the opportunity to continue on in the CIT or CBI for a chance to win a championship. I wouldn’t want to hang my head, and call it a college career. Honestly, to me there’s no good reason to decline an opportunity to play unless you just can’t pay to play or cannot field a team. The added experience, coaching time, and memories for the upperclassmen/departing seniors are enough for me.

Maybe. But sometimes it is just a letdown and leads to half-hearted play. I wouldn't want that.

For me, getting more tourney experience for underclassmen may be the stronger argument.
Getting a CBI champion banner to hang in the arena isn’t anything to sneeze at. It’d let the guys this year point to an achievement for a long time. The first division 1 post season championship. Even if it is CBI.

I'd embrace the CBI and I'm glad Seattle U does. Idaho declined CBI and CIT after being upset early in the Big Sky Tournament and I wish they didn't.
