Rep. Keith Ellison, deputy director of the Democratic National Committee, has said that at one time he saw the Nation of Islam as an organization that did positive things, like “promote African-American self-sufficiency, personal responsibility and community economic development.” Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat, has said he had erroneously dismissed concerns that Farrakhan was anti-Semitic, and said he never shared the "hateful views” of “Jews, gays or any other group.”

Charlotte moment?
No. Ellison isn't a member of the NOI, nor was he applauding them today. He was simply explaining why he did listen to them in the past.

There is a Congressman from South Side Chicago that charges of racist support for the NOI actually might be justified (that congressman is Black, from Chicago, and a Democrat - so it hits the Trumpers trifecta anyway - I'm surprised I haven't seen wall to wall whining about him - BTW his statements on the NOI are very disturbing to say the least). Ellison? Nah, those charges won't stick.

Don’t have to wear the hood to wear the hood.

Farrakhan hated Hillary. Saw her for what she is.

He has ripped her pretty good, call her all kinds of names. He seems to do that about many people.

Obama? Ellison?

Danny Davis.

I'm waiting for the Democrats and the CBC to disavow, but all I hear are crickets.

Between this and linda sarsar being arrested yesterday, this hasn't been a good week for the jihadist wing of the democratic party.

What the hell do you have to lose? Opioid help! Incarceration reform? Expunged charges! Jobs!
What the Hell?

I'll disavow Davis.

Obama? Nah. Ellison? Nah. Why not ask Hamas if they thought Obama is a supporter of theirs? I think you'd learn some strong curse words in Arabic quickly. Ellison did associate, as a youth, for a short time with some people linked to the NOI. But he rejected them.

BTW, Ellison does NOT vote like someone who believes any of the NOI's controversial topics.

Do you disavow linda sarsar?
This thread is about as credible as saying you can’t seperate the Republicans from the KKK. Why do we allow race baiting threads like these?
Faux Deep State News...... where would the GOP be without it?
The Nation of Islam these days is like the Klan. A paper boogeyman.

I'd be more concerned about Ellison's cozy relationship with CAIR who does have toes to both Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Ellison is done and even if this is BS?...The nation is better off without anyone like this partisan clown making policy at the highest level.

Maybe it’s because he was almost DNC chair?
Yep, it’s a big tent.
