Smart move with the gumps playing at home against louisville on Saturday the 1st.
The crowd won’t be any better on a Thursday night. if you want a crowd, don’t play freaking savannah State.

Moving to Thursday makes it more likely I could make it over from Atlanta (Labor Day weekend plans so couldn't make it Saturday) but it is a stretch to take a half day, drive over, and then drive back the night after the game for Savannah State

That's understandable, but you completely kill tailgating and make it tougher for our own fans from out of town to attend.

if I am not mistaken, that game is in Orlando
Maybe they can get a sponsor to make this a "Thirsty Thursday" game with $2 beer. That would help attendance. Most of the Baron's home games on Thursdays are sold out due to this.

So I looked it up. Barons are out of town that Thursday. We need people hanging outside Regions Field the Thursday the week before letting people know they can enjoy beer and watch some good football the next Thursday night.
You take a day off. You have plenty of time to make arrangements. Already have it marked and will do a do four day weekend.

Going to football and basketball games need to be a priority. We need to plan ahead and make it a priority instead of finding reasons not to attend our two major sports. No fussing at anyone just talking out loud here.
Taking a long weekend! Looking forward to tailgating! Coldd Beer and Good Times.
If this doesn't get us on ESPN on Thursday...I don't like this move.
Stupid stupid stupid. Why on earth would you do this when we would be the ONLY game in the state that day. We can't move home game off the day of the Iron Bowl, but we can do this. STUPID!

If it needs to be a priority, maybe the athletic department should try not to screw the fans over. This is a stupid idea, and I'm tired of stupid ideas coming out of our dept. I had to show up at the crack of dawn for our last game because it was "family day." And now we have a Thur game for no reason whatsoever. We aren't on TV, neither Auburn nor Alabama play at home. This is total crap coming from a dept that has a history of giving us total crap. I'm already scheduled to be put of town for work that week. A large portion of our group comes from out of state, which means they can't make it. I dont care who made this call- it is a terrible idea and they need to be called on it.
Unforced error. I'll be there anyway, but what the hell are we thinking?
we have the biggest crybabies of a fan base on the planet.

And for the love of god, don't play it on a Thursday night.

Is the idea to hamstring attendance? Otherwise this is dumb as hell.

You think playing an FCS team on a weeknight is a good idea. Defend.
I don’t really have a problem with it. Took off Thursday and Friday.

God forbid we should want to have a traditional college football experience...

I and others have spent an extraordinary amount of time, effort and money to make our gameday as good as possible, trying to build fan interest that was lost over the last decade. A Thur game against a high school team doesn't help.

It won't affect me personally. The last time we played a night game at Legion Field, 6,000 people were there, and we had to tell them to sit on the east side so the cameras weren't pointed at empty seats.

We always draw well for openers. Why screw it up on purpose?
