Is it a prerequisite at FSU for the starting QB to be involved in a domestic violence incident?
Quote:Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois is being investigated for a domestic violence incident involving a pregnant woman that is alleged to have occurred Tuesday evening.
According to a TPD report of the incident obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat, Francois and a woman, who told him she was pregnant with his child, got into an argument at his home on South Lipona Drive at about 6 p.m.
Both were interviewed and told dramatically different versions of what happened. Neither was arrested.
Francois, who called police, said he and a friend were hanging when the woman showed up, started to break things inside the house and tried to rip a TV off the wall during the argument.
She told police Francois became upset over a friend of his trying to talk to her. She said he broke down the bedroom door, according to the report, picked her up and threw her on the ground, cutting her forearm, and tried to kick her out of the house.
Quote:Francois said he grabbed the woman in a hug in an attempt to keep her from breaking items in the apartment and the cut on her arm came from a vase she'd broken during the fight. He said the woman had told him she was pregnant but had not provided paperwork to prove it.
Francois' friend Zaquandre White confirmed his account. He said Francois only put his hands on the woman "when he tried to prevent her from breaking things in the home and when he had to defend himself."
Due to the conflicting statements and lack of an independent witnesses, officers did not make an arrest.
State Attorney Jack Campbell confirmed there was a pending investigation regarding Francois and his office was being consulted by TPD.
“While it is a pending investigation it is confidential and we aren’t going to comment on it,” Campbell said.
