I'm guessing odds are slim that Strong will still be in Tampa when they meet

2022 in Louisville
2024 in Tampa
2026 in Louisville
Looks like Vince is carrying on Tom's policy only scheduling G5's to visit PJCS or 2-1's when we have to do a return game. Tom's basic policy 1-1 with P5's only. It was that way BEFORE Louisville joined The ACC. I'm sure some raw feelings at USF but it's strictly business.

They are getting some much needed loot...they will be just fine...07-coffee3
Not that I'm thrilled but that does mean another excuse to go to Florida and recruit more.03-shhhh
I would have liked at least a game with Cincinnati in the short term future.
Interesting demonstration of the perceived strength of Louisville's program. USF is a very strong G5 program and should be able to schedule many or even most P5 schools 1 for 1.

They are throwing a fit over on the AAC Board over this...
South Florida has also scheduled Georgia Tech and NC State out of the ACC, and Texas too.
UCF has games scheduled with Carolina, Pitt, and Georgia Tech. UCF also has a game scheduled with Texas.

My guess is it will happen in basketball soon (as long as you don't hire Chris Mack next year). The only reason it wasn't schedule before was because of Rick Pitino's relationship with Mick Cronin.

As to football, our AD indicates he has tried but you guys don't want to play 2 rivalry games OOC (Governors Cup and the Keg of Nails) on top of your conference slate. We are down right now in football but we are building our way back up with the past couple recruiting classes.

I just think in football we just needed time.......... because that excuse of 2 rivalry OOC is just stupid, because that would mean we can NEVER schedule cincy again....(in Life) because ukant isn't going off the schedule. But that was the old AD so maybe the new guy will have a change of heart.

now in basketball it's stupid easy......just schedule it like we did memphis state this year.
FLossY Out...04-wine

"Oh look, there's a player in (insert town/city here), Florida. I think I'll go recruit him."

That's all the excuse you need to recruit in Florida. Playing a game in FLA is #1500 on the list of excuses you need to recruit there

And to prove my point, NC St. just scheduled a one for one series with USF. http://www.fbschedules.com/2018/01/nc-st...-tech-usf/

Trust me I agree...Houston, Cincinnati, UCF, USF & Boise State are G5 schools worthy of Home and Home with P5

You're clueless on this one as it pertains to Louisville. UofL has recruited Florida heavily for decades (more so than your average school outside the SE). Part of that effort includes playing games in the state, and that's partly why Louisville scheduled a 4 games series with FIU from 2011-2014.

Under the current ACC schedule policy, Louisville only plays @ Miami once every 12 years, so essentially never. It is not an accident that UofL will play in Tampa in a season where UofL hosts FSU and otherwise wouldn't have a game in the state of FL. As well, Tampa-St Pete is one of the largest University of Louisville alumni groups in the country outside of Kentucky and that is a consideration here.

Of course, TexanMark told you most of this on the AAC board and you ignored it, even though he was correct there and I'm correct here. I stayed out of it on the AAC board as a visitor, but I will correct blatant inaccuracies on the ACC board.

Agreed. Playing in Florida gives the school visibility when recruiting and then after a player is recruited, gives that player's family and friends a chance to see them play close to home. This is why Syracuse has played a Florida opponent every year since 1988. Moving forward, I'd also love to see SU schedule FIU and FAU out of conference since, like UL we only get Miami on the road once every 12 years. This is why I'm also surprised that UL worked a 2 for 1 with USF.

He's bitter .... there are very attractive AAC schools to play -- and then there is UConn.

You can make a case for playing every school in the AAC, except UConn. That would make me bitter too.
On top of USF, the Cards ink a deal with UCF as well. September 18, 2021 in Louisville & September 17, 2022 in Orlando.
