Breaking News: Washington State QB Tyler Hilinski found dead in apparent suicide.

I have not heard more details than this.

While not SEC related, I want to be sure to remind people to seek and be knowledgeable of mental health issues and resources. Without more information I don't know if this could have been prevented but we can do our part to stop it in the future.

It's tough to prevent even if you form the personal notification contract with a suicide risk individual. But being aware of people who are withdrawn, who give away important possessions, and who after having been withdrawn suddenly and unexpectedly seem very happy will help you spot a suicide risk. But for those who suffer a sudden tragic or humiliating experience it can happen quicker than the time it takes for others to be aware. So if you know someone who has this kind of experience, being with them and available for discussion is important.

It's so painful to hear about this. I hope somebody is there to help his family and friends.

The world is a beautiful place.

I'm afraid that for many whether the world is a beautiful place is a matter of vantage point. I have always found it to be beautiful, but I had to work with some people who could only see the pain, or couldn't find a way to connect to what was good, or who simply found no value in their own life. It's truly sad in every way.

It’s a phrase to remind those that are having a tough time that not everything is all doom and gloom
