The Golden Flashes are in Oxford Ohio to take on Miami at Millett Hall. The Redhawks enter with an overall record of 8-7, 1-1 in the MAC and are coming off a 5 point loss at Western Michigan. What they lack in star power they seem to make up for in balance. Head Coach Jack Owens consistently plays nine men, six of them averaging 7 ppg or more.

Leading the scoring charge is Nike Sibande. The 6'3 freshman is averaging 13.7 points per game. Their leading assist man is 6'2 senior Darrian Ringo and two players, 6'9 senior Logan McLane and 6'7 freshman Dalonte Brown average just over 6 rebounds per game. Miami is certainly not a "big" team.

This would be a nice road win for the good guys. It would appear that Kent State will try to throw the ball down inside to De La Rosa to exploit Miami's lack of gerth. Tonight's game can be heard on 640 WHLO.

Here is a worthwhile trip down memory lane....

Go Flashes!

classic Charlie Coles, miss him on sidelines. one of the best
We're putting on a clinic on out of control offense tonight. 3 points through the first 7 minutes then the next three possessions are dribble drives that start outside the arc by Pippen and Duling.
Good thing we're a basketball school
This team cant seem to decide if it wants to be a good team or a bad team.
sorry I turned this on. ouch
Total embarassment01-lauramac2
Maybe in a few years we will be able to figure this team out. Sure didn’t see this one coming.
I didn't think a D1 team could look this discombobulated. 03-puke
Their coach just said going into half time that they didn't execute great offensively. So their coaches don't like the way their executing but they scored 48 points on us? At least we're countering our sluggish defense with erratic questionable shots. I swear at least 1/3rd of our possessions on the season have ended in a player just going rogue.
I’ve never seen a team take so many shots that aren’t so much shots, as they are just throwing the ball toward the basket. What is that?
Where's Walker
/
NO Jaylin Walker in 2nd half? Does not look happy on the bench
And the ball movement has looked much better.

The Kent - Akron games could feature some really ugly basketball this year

Three games in Kent, Akron, and OU have combined to go 2-7. I bet that hasn't happened a lot in the last 20 years.
The Athletic Department should consider flex pricing. They could sell tickets to those two home games for half price in an effort to draw attention to the marquee program.

Seriously, will they have the guts to jack up prices for the Akron game this season?

I agree oh how the mighty have fallen
Mid-American Conference, why do you hate me?
Sendy has got to get this erratic play under control. This team lacks discipline...very difficult to watch. two/three erractic plays=sit them down...I don't care who plays as long as they make good decisions and run the offense...this is NOT Kent State basketball..
