NMSU was dominant against Chicago State, exploding in the second half. Cougars stayed with them for most of the first half but the Aggies would not be stopped. This win and the margin of victory were both to be expected though.

Now... did anyone else see UVU coming? I figured they’d win by single digits, maybe 10. But man... a thirty point beat down! Bakersfield will be happy to escape to the Big West. UVU is here to play this season.

Great win for UTRGV too. UMKC showed some tenacity on defense, using their defensive pressure to bring it to within 6 late in the second half. Vaqueros hung on for the win.

So there is a defensive battle in Seattle right now. Very physical game, Lopes up by 2 at the half.
UVU has been pimped plenty here this last off-season. I doubt anyone thought Bako would be THIS down, though. Those 2nd halves have been killers!!

However, I'm happy for UVU. They joined DI around thd time CSUB did and I remember they have taken their lumps over much of that time. Good to see them improved.

UVU could become a legit program. Super nice facilities, nice pockets, but why don't fans show up to their games ??
This should be Pope's best shot at unseating NMSU as the WAC Tournament Champions. Almost all his key contributes are Seniors... Akolda Manyang, Brandon Randolph, Kenneth Ogbe, Isaac Neilson, Zach Nelson, and Jerrelle DeBerry. The only decent players returning to the Wolverines next seaons are Jake and Conner Toolson... and maybe Ben Nakwaasah.

UVU has Wyatt Lowell coming in 2018-2019. Lowell has been on two year mission. He was rated a four star by Scout and also rated the 4th best player in Arizona by ESPN his senior year. Lowell was recruited by Colorado, USC, BYU, Oklahoma State and GCU among others.

Pope does a real good job of bringing in transfers. I think they will be just fine next season, but the question is, can they challenge NMSU this season?

Why? Bc their marketing ppl don't do anything to encourage locals to come watch their team unless they play a team from Utah...

Provo is a 14 minute away
SLC is 40 minutes away
Ogden is an hour away
Logan is close to 2 hours away
No one in Utah cares about Utah Valley
