I have mixed feelings about this.

"Jackson is an interesting prospect as team sources across the league are higher on him and his NFL potential than how he is being portrayed in the media. One high-ranking AFC personnel executive had this to say about the suggestion that Jackson should switch positions and isn't viewed as a high quarterback prospect, "It's unfortunate, much like [Deshaun] Watson. Lamar's the most dynamic player in the draft."

Scouts do feel that Jackson needs to add weight for the NFL and improve his accuracy. The dual-threat quarterback also has to consider the injury risk of returning to school and how that could impact where he goes in the 2019 NFL Draft.

As part of the business decision on whether to go or not go pro, Darnold and Jackson could look to purchase insurance policies if they end up not going high in the 2019 NFL Draft. A lot is up in the air as players can change their minds and they get a lot of pressure from family members, coaches, and agents this time of year. Days after their 2017 seasons ended, NFL teams are hearing that Darnold and Jackson would prefer to return to school for next year."
Jackson definitely needs to improve his accuracy, whether he goes pro or not. If he can do that, and the defense can improve a little, Louisville should be back in the national spotlight.

Sam Darnold is headed to the NFL.

HEARING VOICES
Well, they’ve now both declared for the draft so there’s that.
Honestly, I think Jackson is the most intriguing prospect in the entire draft. He is the definition of a boom or bust prospect.

I don’t think an inaccurate passer can be a successful NFL quarterback. However, I do like Jackson better than I like Baker Mayfield. I think he’s a developmental prospect who, if he ends up in the right situation, could be successful in a few years.

Darnold is going to be interesting because he is likely a better pro prospect than Jackson. However, like Jackson, Darnold definitely needs at least another year or two of development. If he goes to the right team with an established quarterback he could turn out to be a good player for someone. However, if he goes nearly as high as some are projecting him to go to a team like Cleveland or someone like that, he is almost certainly going to bust.

Darnold reminds me a little bit of Donovan McNabb when he was coming out of Syracuse. He’s got that big long wind up and he can be a questionable decision maker. However, he also has exceptional athleticism (McNabb was a better athlete) and with the right coaching, and in the right system, and with the right mentoring he could turn into a good player in a few years.

There’s no way in hell I would draft either one of those guys high in the first round. However, late in the first round with a team like New England or New Orleans or Pittsburgh or someone like that, who each boast older establish quarterbacks, yeah, I could see definitely see it.
Jackson is gone, he announced so today. 07-coffee3

This year's draft is being held at Jerry's World, AT&T Stadium in Arlington TX.

And the draft will rotate around the country, at outdoor venues just like last year.

But ... screw the Cowboys. That will be the annoying part of this draft.
Jackson had better hope that he is not drafted by Cleveland. 07-coffee3

Looking like 5 QB in the 1st Round...my prediction...FTR, QB always fly up draft board the closer the draft get...this time last year McShay had ZERO QB going in the 1st Round...3 went Top 12...

1. Cleveland Browns Sam Darnold USC
2. New York Giants Josh Rosen UCLA
5. Denver Broncos Josh Allen Wyoming
6. New York Jets Baker Mayfield Oklahoma
12. Arizona Cardinals Lamar Jackson Louisville

The rumor I heard is that the Giants are interested in Jackson & wanted Louisville to play in the Pinstripe. Purdue was projected as the opponent & UofL didn't want to play a rematch game in their bowl game. I have heard that the Browns are interested in Darnold with their 1st pick.

Some of the NYC Media also has LJ linked to the Jets...
Oh goodness, I hope for the kid’s sake, neither the Browns are the Jets take him. That would be a complete disaster for all concerned! Honestly, I don’t see Jackson as being anything more than a late first-round pick. However, teams are desperate for quarterback, so you never know?

Teams do get desperate for a QB, so they make moves to acquire them. Which will be interesting.

I am a Skins fan, but I don't see them going QB in the draft unless something goes awry with Cousins. But ... as a Skins fan, there's only one place I don't want LJ to go ... Dallas. Luckily, I think they are still heavily involved in the Dak Prescot experiment.

I think a pretty good place for Lamar to go would be New Orleans ... Sit behind Drew Brees a couple of seasons, and learn from him. And get coached by Sean Peyton. I think that offense suits LJ to a T. It would be interesting to watch that develop for sure.
