Huskiewire's Josh Tolentino tweeted this about an hour ago.

Hearing a shakeup is coming soon to NIU football’s coaching staff. Will update as the news comes in.

My guess would be some changes to the Offensive side.
I just hope that Kane wasn't hired away.
If they can't remove Carey then the next best thing will be a new OC or QB Coach
The suspense.......05-stirthepot

I would hope not also. He used the term "shakeup", which tells me it is not someone being hired away, although I could be reading too much into that term being used. We will see.
Word out of the South Side is that Frank Lenti is retiring as head coach of Mt. Carmel. Most football wins in Illinois history and 11 state titles. Jordan Lynch is expected to be named the new Caravan HC @WGNRadio.

That has to be a pay decrease from where he is now. But he has to get other coaching experience, so I get it.

Wow...Good for JL.

I think we would have heard that elsewhere already. The news gets out quick with bigger schools. My guess and hope is Harmon is gone. Does nothing to improve the QBs over the last couple years IMO
Would Cam Stingily who was GA take over the RB's with Lynch gone?
Wow. Lynch did well in his first year as running back coach. If he hung in there he could possibly be the next head coach. Don’t go Jordan..... Don’t go.
As much as I like hiring former Huskies, would like to get someone with more experience than cam for the RB. I wouldn't mind if they do hire Cam for the RB if they were going to hire someone else already with the extra "new" assist coach spot for all schools.
Jordan to Mount Carmel confirmed.
Tough act to follow.
Wonder if he hated coaching under Carey?
Good for JL, I just hope he does well down there and they give him a year or two to succeed. Hate to see him fail. And you know he will be very supportive of NIU from that perch.
It sounds like what JL really wanted so good for him.

Josh Tolentino: "Lynch was extremely-liked not only by NIU running backs, but the entire team. He was able to relate to every guy. Harbison, Huff, Jones, Mister always mentioned how they enjoyed the process with JL6." Hard to replace that and I suspect the positives he brought to recruiting.

It’s a huge loss. I was hoping he’d move on to a bigger program or the NFL and come back to us as a OC or head coach but I guess he could still develop as a coach and eventually find his way back.
I loved the story about how the RBs boasted they were the best receiving RB group in the nation because JL6 loved throwing passes during practices...
