It's about time to make it official
We squeak by some of the worst teams in D-1, in our home arena. Yet some of you want to say we are "improving"
Tonight we lose to the team who is picked to finish dead last in the SEC....in our home arena by DOUBLE DIGITS
The SEC plays 18 conference games. I wonder how we would fare in the SEC if we can't beat the last team in the conference at home?
Would we go 0-18? Maybe we would catch a couple of breaks and go 1-17 or 2-16?
This is the worst excuse for a Memphis Tiger basketball team I have ever seen.
Please boosters, come up with the money, get creative and get someone in here who can salvage this once proud program!

Penny has plenty of money and wants to be HC. Tell Penny if he buys out the contract we will hire him and then pay him 1.5mil a year until he gets his feet wet, then we will negotiate his contract.

Who in their right mind would buy out a million plus contract just to get the job, and after getting the job have a bunch of "coaches behind a keyboard" second guess every move you make and every recruit you take?

If you don't believe me call Bilichek and Saban and ask them if every single thing they do is questioned by their millions of fans.

When did Penny make that declaration?
I have no inside information but I could see him gone at the end of the year. Maybe wishful thinking.

Rudd likes Tubby too much. Tubby basically would have to lose every game from here to get canned imo.

I respectfully disagree. Dr. Rudd has publicly stated his expectations for the basketball program and Tubby is not in the same area code in meeting it.
Tubbys problem is that he's a 'know it all' and so keeps his son and his buddy on staff.
LSU was a loss in most peoples minds even those expecting 20 wins. It is way to early to jump off the cliff.
I think events have proven that Tubby is not the right fit for Memphis.
However, barring a late season collapse like last year, I (FWIW) give Tubby one more year to prove his worth under the below conditions:
1. We should explore the viability of forcing Tubby to hire competent assistants before next season. My guess is he will quit rather than see his son and loyal staff let go.
2. Establish and enforce performance standards for next season. The standards are an NCAA Tourney bid and a roster capable of sustainable success.
