Strong numbers for sure. Can't expect CBSSN to have good viewership but it was available to the teams fans and got more exposure than no TV.

What network is the Zona Bowl going to be on this year?

Of course, those attendance figures are bogus. At least, in terms of occupied seats.
Tickets Sold = $ and bowl games are all about the $. The higher the $ the happier the bowl committee. The happier the bowl committee the more likely they'll continue to work with the teams/conference.

And bowls are made for TV. Attendees are diehards., families and a few locals.

Of course, but bowls (not owned by ESPN) generate money on ticket sales too.

I’m so happy for NMSU. This is exactly the momentum boost they needed for independence. I wish they were closer.
I appreciate all the fans who traveled to their teams bowl games. Two weeks notice for most of us. I know their were a lot more who didn't go but wanted to. Their is a lot of interest for our bowls conference wide. It's more fun to root for wins conf. wide rather than the selfishness that comes from a playoff and I know that is necessary. I do remember the 1AA playoff days.
The Sun Belt really is in a good spot with their bowls. All within travel distance for the league teams. Other G5 conferences can't say the same. This helps build the brand up for the Belt. Winning the games even more so.

That was a great post. Until that last sentence.
In the 3 years since App and GaSo have been bowl eligible the Sun Belt is 10-5 in bowl games.
