Articles like this drive me crazy. And it's not just UT and BG; coaches in bigger conferences ***** and moan about scheduling as well. There are 351 D1 basketball teams and there's no reason to have non-D1 opponents in regular season games. EMU is playing FOUR non-D1 teams in regular season games. It's not like the MAC is in an area where the member schools are isolated from over D1 programs. The number of teams within a reasonable bus trip from Toledo (approximate geographic center of the conference) means there's little excuse for the conference to stoop to scheduling Spring Arbor, Ohio Christian, and Lourdes as regular season opponents.
