Shady like Grady. Judy sent that to her husband and said, "See, I told you I was doing a good job", and went all Stuart Smiley on him.

It was very clever. The best part is that UNCC fans are so upset with their own school that they actually believed he was a plant.

Grady Davis and his accomplices have come clean to the person who wrote that article, I'm sure he'll release something else at some point today.

He really did one hell of a job digging into everything. Pulitzer worthy, if I do say so myself.

It's still astonishing that it worked to the level it did. The idea that you could do an FOI request for emails from a specific troll fan, and get that many pages of documents because the school kept sending it back and forth is hilarious.

incompetence rules the roost in the Charlotte athletic department.

There are several married couples, nieces, nephews, etc. working in our athletic department. For years, #family was a joke (though not a funny one) to Niner fans because of the way our athletic department is run. It has reached a boiling point though because the family-like atmosphere there has removed any sense of accountability from those in charge and our chancellor doesn't care about sports, he just wants to stay compliant and scandal free. If you read our mission statement for athletics, not once does it mention winning.

Judy is all about the student athlete experience. That's all fine and great if you are 100% subsidy free, but when you are taking money from your students to give student athletes a better collegiate experience than they are receiving and then giving them no sort of entertainment or connection to fellow students and alums, you deserve the backlash you are now receiving.

They'll cave. It's just getting started. Thousands of dollars of funding that would have gone to donations in the past will instead be redirected towards shaming or forcing them out.

Judy is extremely uncomfortable at this point and we've already made her cry on more than one occasion. The polite route didn't exist, so now she's basically forcing us to drag her legacy and dignity through the mud. With 27 years at the helm, she's been in place long enough, especially given the performance of our revenue sports. She was gifted a good coaching tree and a great basketball conference in the 90's and early 2000s. Since she's had to start making decisions on her own, they've all been disasters.

The A-10 of the mid 2000's through mid 2010's was not quite to the caliber of the Louisville/Cincy/Memphis/Charlotte/St. Louis/DePaul/Marquette/UAB C-USA era, but it was no slouch, either. Charlotte was not the best fit in the A-10, but they made the least of what was still a multi bid league.

I think it is great to aim for being scandal-free. I grew up a Florida State fan, but even though they've had plenty of success in sports in recent years, the ugly headlines have taken a toll to the point where they've really soured on me, even though my parents met there and most of my family is crazy about FSU. Winning without scandal does matter. But, to your point, winning does matter. They seem like winning does not matter.

Also, even though I agree with my fellow App State alumni and fans that App would beat Charlotte's brains in, short of an absolute debacle, I do think our schools should be in the same conference. I'm all for natural rivalries, and this episode of catfishing serves to prove it.
It wasn't me.

Our 2018 game just got more interesting. Off the field at least.
that's why in college, they say only use information from .edu and .gov /sarcasm

seriously, who uses yahoo anymore? is this the 90s? that should've been the first clue Judy.

I feel like Charlotte is our sister school in the North due to the similarities in our institutions in terms of location, academics, and sports. We went through the exact same thing. Things were 100% better after we fired a bad AD and underperforming HC.

I have to say, its been interesting to watch UNCC throw away all of their significant advantages in multiple sports over the last 15 years, get passed in pretty much all their prominent sports by teams with far fewer students, initially lower profiles and conference affiliations, and less money, and watching the school do nothing about the obvious problem.

Maybe the should join the 'all f-ed up' conference of teams with delusional or flat out crazy athletic departments with JMU, FIU, UMKC, and Liberty.

UNCC have definitely squandered all their sport upsides in the last decade. They're a shell of what they were. If they hadn't started football they'd be looked at as equals of UNCG, UNCA, and UNCW. But unlike the other UNC schools, they've haven't had any success in the last decade in a major sport.

Have UNCG or UNCA either? UNCW has had good baseball and last year in basketball, but I don't remember hearing much about the other two.

LOL, my primary basketball team is George Washington. UNCC played in that league for a decade. They sucked the whole time they were there. Its pretty instructive that Davidson is thriving in the league today. UNCC didn't manage so much as 1 NCAA bid while they were there. NINE A-10 schools got at large bids while they were there. One year, a team that placed SIXTH got an at-large.
Well, Judy Rose at UNCC is retiring. How about that?
