This is going to be the big question now...what is his staff going to look like? Since he has never been a head coach, it will be interesting to see who out there would come with him? Anyone have any ideas who he brings or who he keeps?
I really hope he keeps Billy Taylor. That man loves ETSU football, and is a good coach.
Kenny Hawkins mentioned this morning that all of the present assistant coaches attended the presser last night with the exception of one. Billy Taylor. That seems pretty telling as to how he might be feeling about all this. Fair or not, this is second time his career has been stalled or derailed by ETSU football. It would be a challenge to stay dedicated to a job like that for most of us. I'm guessing we've seen the last of him but I hope he'll stay.
I saw that. Can't say I'm surprised. I wonder if he was actually told that he would get the job after Torbush left. I had heard that rumor, but wasn't sure as to what extent it was true.
Rumor is his brother Colonel Sanders will be defensive coordinator

I thought Steve Sanders was his brother...

Sanders has worked on many staffs, he'll have connections through all the assistants and GA's that he's worked with. I'm sure he'll keep some of the current staff for continuity and recruiting purposes. He may not need to change much on the defensive staff.

There is one coach who won’t be back.

Let me see if I have this straight: The guy who coached OUR offensive line last year is now going to be an FCS head coach?

Merry Christmas to him, I guess.
More proof that we landed a homerun hire in Sanders.

Has there been any update as to who is or who is not on our staff?

I dont think anything can become official until the university gets back from the break early 2018 so that paperwork can be processed.

That sounds logical. Thanks.
Why post the past coaching staff? Just because they updated the head coaches picture doesn't mean the other coaches are staying. There are some already gone.

Coaching staff will be named after university returns from holiday in a timely fashion.
Of course we would be willing to accept any "inside" information that someone would be willing to share.
Excited to see this....

Quote:While Sanders wouldn’t tip his hand regarding any of his choices for the staff, he spoke highly about Taylor when asked. Don’t be surprised if Taylor’s name is among the announcements.

Sanders, who became the 18th head coach in program history back on Dec. 17, named former Buccaneer wide receiver Marcus Satterfield his offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, Steve Brown his defensive backs coach and Matt McCutchan will oversee the offensive line. In addition, Sanders announced that Billy Taylor (Defensive Coordinator/Inside Linebackers), Mike Rader (Wide Receivers/Recruiting Coordinator), Gary Downs (Running Backs), Daryl Daye (Defensive Line/Special Teams), Dylan Lewellyn (Outside Linebackers) and Al Johnson (Strength and Conditioning) have all been retained from the previous staff.
Not excited at all about the offensive coordinator but saw that coming with that transfer from Temple. VERY excited that we were able to keep Billy Taylor on staff
