This hasn't been announced yet that I can see but since other MAC schools are announcing their schedules I was able to come up with ours through process of elimination.

Our 2018 crossover games will be home vs. Ohio and Miami and away vs. Akron. Basically the three schools we did not play in 2017.

Our overall schedule should look like this:

Home vs. Utah, Miami, Ohio, Toledo, CMU

Away vs. Iowa, Florida State, BYU, Akron, WMU, EMU, Ball State
Only five home games.

Three "guarantee" games to pay for non-revenue sports.

And how many on a weeknight in November?

MAC scheduling sucks.

There are only 2 money games. Utah and byu are part of a home and home.
Too early to speculate but first pass says that is going to be a really tough schedule.
That's right, only 5 Home games.

Dear Santa:

Please schedule at least 3 of them on Saturday.

Yea that is going to be a killer schedule.

I thought the common practice in years' past was for MAC admin and school ADs to meet in springtime, offer input regarding scheduling of MAC schools and release a composite MAC schedule late spring after schools have firmed up all OCC dates/ opponents.

If your forecast/ assessment is correct, 2018 will be an extremely "challenging" - shall we say schedule - for NIU to finish .500 overall, perhaps the tuffest ever. Careful for what you pray for as fans.07-coffee3

I agree. We've been fortunate with weaker East division schedules lately. Combine the tough OOC schedule with MAC west and tougher MAC east schedule and that will be a nice challenge.

Any links on the other teams announcements? Curious to see who plays each time the. If that schedule is correct we will be fortunate to get 6 wins. 8 would be overachieving imo.
I found releases from Ohio and Miami Ohio and they confirm the games here. Couldn't find any release by Akron. Some were released 2 days ago. Not sure why we haven't released it yet. Toledo has a very favorable schedule including 7 home games. One of those is Miami Florida though.

Looks like a 5-7 season. There are too many solid teams on the schedule for NIU to post a winning season without an offense. If something miraculous happens and Coach Carey heads elsewhere, maybe they could pull off 7-5. I think that would probably be the ceiling
9-3, no problem.

WMU crossovers are Ohio, Miami, BUGS.

OOC we play Syracuse, Michigan, Delaware State, Georgia State.

You should be much better now that Goddard has some playing time. That’s assuming he’s the starter I suppose.

Assuming Wassink is healthy, should be interesting competition during Spring ball.

Lester has also offered QB Lindsey Scott Jr. who just led East Mississippi CC (of "Last Chance U." fame) to national JuCo championship. He originally enrolled at LSU.

A JUCO QB you say? Hmmm....
Love the schedule. I'm holding back any judgement of what our record might be till we see who's on the roster for next season. We get a decent grad transfer for QB we have a shot at being pretty damn good

Or Childers develops more and is the answer
As much as I want Childers to be the answer at this point with the QBs we have, I don't see him winning any of our Non Conf games. we start the season 0-4
And I would be surprised if we have 5k at homecoming
That is a solid home schedule with all appealing games. I do not mind the weekday games at all, but I do hope we get 3 Saturdays. I am always optimistic until proven otherwise. I am all set for the Iowa & Florida State road games- man, it would be great to kick both those teams around. Let's beat Duke & create mojo for our challenge next year.
