How many get invited?

Right now, 7 are top 100 in Kenpom with 3 (WSU, Cincy & SMU) in the top 25 and 2 more (Houston & Temple) top 50. UCF & UConn are the other two, Tulsa is just outside the top 100, Tulane and Memphis are near 150, and ECU and USF are high 200's. Houston has one loss, as does WSU.
I know it will not be us, barring a miracle.

We are undefeated in the league!
My conference prediction is that there will be a power six alignment sooner than later. Just hope I make it long enough to see it happen.
I read somewhere that the American was the 3rd best overall conference in the country
I think 4 bids
Three. WSU, Cinci, and SMU.
Should be a good season up top in to get the American back in the national discussion after a couple of off seasons for the league.

We won't be a factor in their conversation, most likely.
Some (here even) have been calling us a 2-bid league - even after WSU joined us. Uneducated. Three will be the minimum. Four will be the average. This year - who knows? Some strange stuff going on. Will only get stranger with the ongoing investigations.
It really is the worst year to have a bad basketball team. The conference is going to be exciting and provide multiple opportunities for resume building wins.

Two will be the minimum.

SMU and Temple are most likely to contest for bids, but it depends on how they fare in conference. There is a lot of flotsam in the conference (Tulane, Memphis, ECU, USF) and those teams can't afford to lose games to those teams.

Tulsa and UConn aren't going, and UCF is at a huge disadvantage due to the injuries of Dawkins and Taylor.

Houston has a couple decent wins against mid-range P5 schools (Wake and Arky) but has loaded up on cupcakes so far and even dropped a game to Drexel.

So, unless an SMU, Temple, or Houston separate themselves from each other, don't lose to the bottom of the conference and can pick off a game vs. WSU or Cinci two bids are the floor with maybe a third getting in.
Temple lost by 20 to Villanova last night and Houston lost to LSU.

The AAC needs these types of wins (or at least good showings) to improve their perception.

I'm not even sure SMU is a lock. I have seen them play in two defeats this year on TV and I was not overly impressed. I think they will be a bubble team.

They are a limited team with some talent, but they have a slim margin for error in every game. Bench is nonexistent and they have little height.

Lunardi has Wichita St, Cincy, SMU, and Temple (at play in game) right now.

At this point in the season, that's about right. However, it will be incumbent upon SMU and Temple to separate themselves from the rest of the pack during conference play. 11-7 records won't cut it.

While it wouldve been nice for Temple to beat Nova, its no harm in losing to the number 1 team in the nation in the OOC

True. But it's not losing, it's getting your doors blown off at home.

Its not ideal certainly but a lot of teams are gonna get blown out by Nova.
