I've hit a brick wall when it comes to thinking up something cool for my parents, in-laws, etc.

Could always play it safe and do UC clothes, some new electronic, or whatever...

But I figured I'd see what you other old farts have gotten in the past and actually enjoyed. Feel like sharing a cool gift you've received over the years?
-King size Sherpa blanket
-Gift Card
-Booze
-Blue Tooth wireless speaker
-Bought my nephew a Roku device last year, he like it (22 years old) has no idea what cable is.
I am going to take my Dad and Mom down to the old neighborhood to see where they grew up and what it looks like now. Should be fun for me also. They are 81 and 80 and have not been down there in decades. We will have to do it during the day since it is South and North Fairmount and I dont even want to be down there at night.
I’m taking my mom on vacation so she can also share in my daughter’s first trip to the beach. Also... built in babysitting.

You said UC clothes so I am assuming they are either alums or fans... choose an away game for basketball at a cool location... get tickets and plan a trip around it.

It's not for Christmas but my sons and I do an away game every year for Football (BYU 2 years ago) Annapolis this one. You also get to meet other posters like Ken (Ragpicker).

Last year for Basketball we went to Richmond, great time so we are thinking about an away basketball game. With air bnb you can stay at some great places cheap also.

Ha my wife and her sister get that for their dad every year for his birthday.

Honestly for my mom I always choose something we can do together, because I've come to find those are her favorite gifts. Last year I bought tickets for Garth Brooks. This year I bought first row seats to see A Christmas Story at Aronoff (had to give her that early so I also got her something small for her new car).

The bonus is something fun to do with my mom that I know she'll love, also makes a nice boomerang gift.
Good ideas, folks. Keep em coming if anyone has anything else to add.

Dad and I travel a bunch to UC stuff already. Barring a trip out west, we'll be at the NCAA tournament games. Maybe UCLA next fall for football.

Thought about a trip to the conference tournament this year, but I travel enough for work plus have a 1 and 3 year old, so I have to balance additional travel against a potential divorce.
Nothing says happy holidays like ammo and emergency food and water supplies.

Yep.
This fine Italian lamp makes a good gift. Consider it a "major award".
