Build up a huge lead. Call off the dogs. Run down the shot clock. Get no shot or a bad shot. Play no defense. Lose right at the end. Same thing year in and year out. Game in and game out. How much of this crap can we continue to watch? It never gets better.
All comes back to coaching when the same thing continues to happen with different teams and different guys year in and year out.
So sick of it.
Oh, and how about play more guys on the bench. Played some tonight only because he was forced to because of foul trouble and they looked good. Give them more minutes? Nah, burn out the 5 or 6 key guys so they lose their last 4-5 league games then peter out quickly in the tournament because they don’t have anything left in the tank.
Dumb.
But Coach K can recruit shooters, so where does UT go from here if they hire a defensive minded coach?

Don’t even need a defensive minded coach. Simply need someone who doesn’t ignore defense.
If I was a casual observer and didn’t know anything about the program, I’d assume we spent no time in practice on the defensive side of the ball.
As stated numerous times... This is a .500 team.. No better, no worse...

Feel bad for the players. Consistently put in a position to fail. This was instant replay of the Detroit game. Just didn’t get lucky at the end.

SO... what's the best thing we can say about him? He's a nice guy, he hasn't gotten the school in trouble, and thank God he's not Cross? Need to set the bar a bit higher, MOB.

All valid points about the coach. I believe it's as good as it gets now and for the near future. I love MAC BB, but, we are talking about the MAC, not the ACC, AAC, Big 10 or PAC 12. We have not had a dominating great MAC Team since Bobby Nichols retired. For as good as the Toledo class was with Boothe and Pierson as well as the Ohio and Akron teams, the MAC gets left out in the cold when it comes to the NCAA Tourney.
At least Coach K admitted in the post game interview that he made a mistake with his slow down offense at the end. I'll give him that.

And will continue to do so. MAC champ or bust. Just the way it is.
Seems we have a quality guy running the program, who also believes in graduation rates, citizenship (maybe wrong term), etc. We could do a lot worse.

He is a good guy but we are going no where, period. Not a great coach for sure. Average recruiter. We lucked out on getting Tre-Shoun or we'd be in a pickle again. Lucking out on transfers, little to no D and average W-L record is not what I call a program moving forward...another year of average hoops at UT I'm afraid.
