He’s only had two losing seasons (both in the SEC) and I don’t think any big names will be going after him so he’s a plausible hire for the AAC schools.

Uhhh why couldn’t herman have stayed one more year... then we could have had our pick of real coaches this year.

I don't know if anyone will but he'd make a great coach at any school. Would be great to see him at ECU.

If we go the route of a new HC, I hope we keep Mo as OC or QB coach. Not only is he more comfortable there but it also would help to keep the potential once in a decade QB committed. Plus we’re going to be paying him anyway night as well use him as I doubt he’ll get a HC offer.

Bielema wouldn't fit in with the AAC. He's a follower of the Big 10 "smash mouth" style of football.
The AAC is more of a wide open offensive league. I doubt he'd do well at a AAC member school.

Have you seen Navy or Tulane play?

IMO, the last thing you need in a wide open offensive league is a coach that wants to play just like the rest of the conference.

That's like trying to win the SEC by copying Alabama. Ask LSU and Arkansas, it's not going to work.

I think he'd be a good addition because his style would be a fantastic counter to what we have. Keep the ball out of the hands of the other team.
or ucf under o'leary.

Edsall at UConn is a "smash-mouth" guy.

This conference has a little of everything--from the Option to the ground/run heavy to the pro-set to the spread.
Bret needs a job pitching ads for the buffet at Golden Corral. He looks like he drinks from the chocolate fountain with a straw.

you just proved my point. Navy and Tulane don't play smash mouth football. They
are more of a finesse option.
In the option...linemen don't have to be all that big and strong..all they have to do is hold a block for a few moments.
When you think of smash mouth teams...think of Michigan and Ohio State eras under Schembechler and Hayes, UT and Pitt under Johnny Majors.

Reminds you of somebody else near and dear to your heart?
I am very fond of Bret and his eating habits 03-cloud9
No. He's a younger George O' Lesry
I don't see an obvious fit for him in the AAC right now, and it's so hard to recruit that level of lineman here.

Not that Illinois is going to cut bait on Lovie this quick, but that'd be a good place for Bret.

Nebraska would be perfect for him but he's lost his winning aura so they don't want him.

Not to mention ECU has been their best this decade when we had the smash mouth bend but don’t break Holtz gameplan. Back to back conference champions and beat 3 ranked opponents in a row.
