I got divorced at 40......the 20-60 range was then in danger from the engorged.....my life has been one fun trip......I have to admit, I pay homage every day to being one of the lucky ones that did it in mediocrity....

life's a blast.....doesn't matter how....it only matters that you do it with a smile.....

I'm still waiting for Rush Limbaugh to move to Costa Rica.

Something he said he would do if Obama was re elected.
i think the wife and i will spend our sixties as gringos in latin america as well. i'll continue to write and think about getting paid, quickly tap and adapt into the economy of local booze and spend saturdays learning spanish from a not so wise man. my wife we be devoted to the communities' children and they will speak kindly of the old white woman. we'll haunt cafes and pool halls. well, she won't. a woman shouldn't enter a latin american pool hall. i probably shouldn't either. not right away at least. i'm particular fond of gringo towns. i feel there's an unwritten rule about white folk living in latin america, we created the gringo town for you. please, just stay away from our small towns. they're so nice

i'm cool with that

i wouldn't mind living in tagonga, columbia. set on the caribbean, i swear we had two sunsets. panajachel, guatemala. the awesome gateway town to lake atitlan which is the prettiest lake i ever did see. livingston, guatemala. also set on the caribbean. living with black rasta guatemalans would be groovy. livingston. it's a country within a country

of course i'll retire to a wood shack in the northern woods of wisconsin and die far too early outside in a moderate winter. at which point my wife will wipe her brow, shove an apple into a thermos and drive 18 hours in either direction

Didn't hold for Alec Baldwin or a few others... so maybe the precedent was set?

Not a lefty nor snowflake; however, pretty sure the wife and I will be heading to South America for retirement.
Ignoring the stupid partisanship of this thread, as if both sides don't have idiotic "IM LEAVING IF XXXX WINS!!!1!" types, I did find the cost of living and rental rates pretty interesting.
